Filipino content creator Abi Marquez has been nominated for the 29th Annual Webby Awards under the Creators - Food & Drink category, marking her second consecutive nomination following her Webby People’s Voice Award win in 2024.

Known online as the "Lumpia Queen," Abi has gained international recognition for her engaging food content, which spotlights Filipino cuisine through creative and accessible recipe videos. Her nomination once again puts Filipino culinary traditions in the global spotlight.

She was nominated alongside international digital food creators, including Joshua Weissman, Andrew Rea (Binging with Babish), and Olivia Tiedemann.

The Webby Awards, often referred to as the "Oscars of the Internet," honor excellence in digital content. Out of over 13,000 entries across various categories, only the top 12% are selected as nominees.

Abi is eligible for two honors: the Webby Award, selected by the International Academy of Digital Arts and Sciences (IADAS), and the Webby People’s Voice Award, determined by public voting.

Voting for the People’s Voice Award is open until Thursday, April 17 at 11:59 p.m. PDT via the Webby Awards website.

Winners will be announced on Tuesday, April 22, with an exclusive awards ceremony scheduled for Monday, May 12 in New York City.

Back in May 2024, Abi became the first Filipina born and raised in the Philippines to win at the Webby Awards.

"WE WON!!! It still feels so surreal receiving the People’s Voice Winner award in the Food & Drink Category at The Webby Awards! It was the first time I went to the US, and I am so grateful to have gone while representing the Philippines and every Filipino home cook out there," she posted on TikTok following her big win last year.

The content creator added: "I hope I made every single one of you proud! Here’s a quick throwback on what went on during The Webby Awards night!!❤️"

The winners at The Webby Awards last year were given the opportunity to deliver a 5-word speech.

"When I walked up on stage. I just couldn't put my smile down and I tried my best to say the five words loud and clear, 'Philippines this is for you!'" she recalled.
