“I was in South America when it happened. It was scary. My mom and my lolo were the only ones in LA. And, you know, I have my two cats. I have all my things. The moment that it was on the news, my mom decided to evacuate already. We weren't given the signal to evacuate yet. Even without it, my mom was like ‘You know I'm not going to take our chances because it's going to be harder to evacuate once everybody's already leaving,'” he shared.

“I think they had to evacuate twice because they went back. It was going down then and all. Doon kasi sa map it will show it'll show which ones are the red zones, the orange, and the yellow. We were in the orange for the longest time and then naging yellow. The next day, we were in the orange zone again,” he recalled.

“Thankfully, our house wasn't affected by it. It's sad to see a lot of people lose their homes, many of them seniors who have spent their lives there. It's hard to see that happen to people you know, in the neighborhood and city where you grew up,” he said.
