Even though he grew up in the US, actor Inigo Pascual has never had any regrets moving back to the Philippines when he was a teenager to follow in his dad Piolo Pascual’s footsteps in showbiz. Since then, he has slowly carved out a name for himself not just in acting, but also with his singing career.

In 2023, he accepted his first major international role in the American drama series Monarch. But even before that time, Inigo said he had already chosen to get his own place abroad and live independently.

Getting his own home also allowed Inigo to indulge in his love for decorating and interior design. “That’s one of my passions. I love design. I make rugs, I make a lot of artworks and stuff but personally, interior designing is parang one of my hidden passions. I’ve always had it. I’ve always had a love for it or a passion for design. So when I moved into the house, I told everyone that I’m in charge of everything. And fun fact, a lot of my decorations are thrifted. So a lot of people will ask, ‘Where did you buy this?’ I say, ‘I’m not going to tell you.’ They don’t know it’s just like eight bucks (laughs),” he shared with PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview during the Fatherland celebrity screening.

The Fatherland star also revealed his goal of expanding his brand to also include clothing designs someday, which is also why he chose to be based more in the States for now.

“I love creating just random things and eventually my dream is to get into the apparel world to create clothes and stuff. Hopefully in the near future. Ayoko lang siguro malito yung tao na ang dami kong gustong gawin sa buhay ko (laughs). One at a time di ba? But that’s also one of the reasons why I’m also staying in the States a lot. I’ve been meaning to take the time to get to know that side of me. I feel like me being here (in the Philippines), I won’t have the time. I won’t have the freedom to really dive into that world. Like my dad, my dad’s hobby is he likes to plant. So isa rin yun sa mga hobbies ko pag andun ako sa bahay. I just love waking up and watering my plants. It gives me peace,” he explained.

Aside from buying unique kinds of furniture and home decor, Inigo also shared his talent for rug making, which he just learned on his own by watching videos online.

“I think it’s been a year now. So I recently started making rugs. My recent collection is the cat collection. All of these are my designs. I sold some of my designs already. Eventually, I do want to start a business on my designs. The octopus design is something that I also enjoyed. I learned it all by myself sa YouTube lang (laughs). I have my own equipment at home, everything is handmade. I have some of my stuff that I keep personally but I’ve sold a couple of pieces as well,” he told PUSH ABS-CBN.

Watch Inigo in the movie Fatherland, now showing in cinemas nationwide. The film stars Inigo Pascual, Angel Aquino Mercedes Cabral, Cherry Pie Picache, Max Eigenmann, Richard Yap, Ara Davao, Jeric Gonzales, Kazel Kinouchi, and Rico Barrera. Written by Roy Iglesias and directed by Joel Lamangan.
