Darren Espanto has his hands full with his current hosting duties on It’s Showtime as well as performing at various venues inside and outside the country. The 23-year-old performer made his first major purchase last year when he acquired a new vehicle, a Cadillac Escalade, which is valued at an estimated ₱18M.

The Kapamilya host and singer shared the sentimental reason behind his choice of a new family vehicle.

“I felt so happy kasi it was our family car when I was growing up. Tapos parang ang tagal namin naghintay for it to have kind of a remodel. Recently, it started to have a lot of innovations sa interior so that’s why I asked my parents if I could buy another one again. Nasa Canada siya, for my family din naman kasi,” he shared during his launch as the new CIty Cafe endorser.

After his "big boy purchase" last year, Darren admitted he has not set his eyes on anything else to save up for. “Wala naman. I’m an impulsive buyer. When I see something that I want, I’ll try and save up for it or I’ll buy it when I see it, yung mga ganun. Kasundo ko nanay ko sa shopping eh. Lalo na pag matagal kami sa mall. Kapag alam kong medyo may kamahalan, tini-text ko yung parents ko or tatawagan ko. But most of the time, they know naman what my limit is kapag sa shopping or nasa galaan,” he explained.

Darren said he is aware of how blessed his life is and promises not to waste the opportunity to inspire and help others through his success.

“I feel like siyempre I’m very grateful for all of the blessings that have come my way, sa lahat ng mga opportunities and I always say na yun din ang tinuro ng magulang ko, to be able to share your blessings with others. I find ways to save money while also being able to share my blessings sa family members ko, with my friends, and those in need, along with my Darrenatics, may mga charities kami na tinutulungan. May mga bagay ako na pinag-iipunan talaga, whether it be a new car that I have my eye on or lupa, mga ganun. And also to invest,” he explained.

When he’s just at home, Darren said he enjoys doing normal things with his friends in showbiz.

“Actually yung mga araw na Showtime yung nasa schedule tapos there’s nothing after, I consider it a free day. So minsan yayayain ko yung mga co-host ko from Showtime to eat outside or manuod ng sine, mga ganun. Pag weekends naman tapos walang event, I just spend time in my house with my family. Minsan may mga araw na kapag walang trabaho, nasa kuwarto lang talaga ako. Yung me time talaga and it’s just quiet before I face more events and schedules the next day,” he revealed.

The host-singer also admitted he is excited to finally release an exciting new album this year.

“Fans can look forward to fresh episodes from ASAP and It’s Showtime and hopefully this year I can release my new album, my first album under Star Music. Hopefully this year I can release my first album with my Star Music family.

"Kasi ang dami na rin naming na-release na singles since I was launched in Star Music last year so hopefully this year it’s a full-length album and also more concerts kasi ate Morissette (Amon). Sa June we start our North American leg naman. So we start in the US. So hopefully masundan pa yun. Also ASAP, we’re going to Birmingham and then another city after that which hasn’t been announced yet. So there’s a lot of travels this year. Hopefully, another concert din sa Pilipinas,” he added.
