UK based Filipino nurse and content creator John Steven Soriano, more popularly known as Nurse Even on social media, has gone public with his relationship, announcing his engagement to his longtime partner, Paul.

In a heartfelt post on his social media pages, Nurse Even shared snaps from their engagement photoshoot along with a touching message dedicated to Paul.

“For the past five years, we’ve kept our relationship private. We wanted to protect it from opinions and comments that could hurt us,” he wrote, explaining the decision behind keeping their relationship away from the public eye.

He shared that he eventually realized it was time to let their followers in on their love story.

“But one day I realized, our parents and families support and love us, our close friends are genuinely happy for us, and we’re getting married soon. So why keep the best thing in my life a secret?” he continued.

Putting aside potential negativity, the content creator expressed gratitude and affection for his fiancé.

“People will always have something to say. Let them. What truly matters is the love and respect we share,” he expressed.

“Paul, thank you for always choosing love, for always choosing me. I can’t wait to marry you,” Nurse Even concluded, tagging the post with sweet hashtags such as #PaulEven, #MahalKitaSobra, #MyGwapo, and #SzomoRiano.

Fans and netizens expressed happiness for Nurse Even and Paul in the comment section.

“My heart is so happy for you and Paul ❤️ deserve na deserve! Promise bibisitahin ko kayo dyan 😉 love you vinny ko 😘❤️,” a fan wrote.

Fellow Filipino content creator and radiologist Dr. Alvin Francisco, who was previously “shipped” with Nurse Even on TikTok, also sent his well wishes, jokingly referring to him as his “TOTGA” (The One That Got Away).

“Sobrang saya ko para sa inyo! Congratulations! ❤️,” he said.

Nurse Even rose to social media fame through his humorous point-of-view (POVs) skits and relatable content as a nurse, garnering over 1 million followers and more than 30 million likes on TikTok.

In an earlier interview with GMA 7’s Brigada, he revealed that his content creation journey began simply as a pastime.

“Nung una, pampalipas oras ko lang po talaga siya and then, ewan ko po ang dami pong naaliw sa akin, mapa-nurse, mapa-doktor, mapa-pasyente lahat na nakarelate na sa akin,” he shared.

Beyond his online presence, Nurse Even also launched his own live show, The Bank Shift Show, which toured cities across the UK.

In a previous post, he reflected on this achievement, saying, “Back then, I was just looking at posters of people performing on stage and hosting incredible shows. I was so inspired, to the point that I would always tell myself, 'Sana all. Ano kayang feeling ng nag-sho-show?'”

Nurse Even went on: “Now, I’m living that very dream. It’s surreal to see my own show coming to life. I’m grateful for every step of this journey and for all the good things coming my way. Never stop believing in what’s possible. Anything can happen in your lifetime.”
