Carol Banawa took to social media to pen a heartfelt tribute to the late screen legend Nora Aunor.

Carol got to work with the superstar on the ABS-CBN hit series Bituin.

"It is with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to Ms. Nora Aunor—a true legend, an icon, and one of the greatest actresses in the history of Philippine entertainment," she remarked.

Carol recounted her experience working with the superstar on Bituin. "It was an incredible honor to have worked alongside her, to witness her brilliance, and to learn from her not just as an artist, but as a beautiful soul," she stated.

The actress-singer recalled how she witnessed the superstar's artistry and humility firsthand.

"I will always remember her kind eyes and the gentle warmth she carried with her. She was incredibly sweet, humble, and generous—always supportive, especially to us younger artists on set. She gave so much of herself in every performance, and even more behind the scenes, guiding, inspiring, and encouraging everyone around her," she said.

Carol highlighted that Nora's legacy "will live on—not just in her remarkable body of work, but in the hearts of those she touched."

"She will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. Thank you, Ms. Nora, for everything. Your memory, your spirit, and your extraordinary talent will live on forever," Carol remarked.

Fans online were quick to react to Carol's post.

"Bituin was one of my favorite childhood teleseryes. Rest in peace, superstar," one fan commented.

"One of my favorite teleseryes of ABS-CBN. Was only 10 when this was shown. Loved the story and the characters. This was also the teleserye that made me fall in love with music. Truly a remarkable one! You’re so lucky to have worked with the Superstar, Ms. Carol," another fan wrote.

Nora passed away due to acute respiratory failure, as confirmed by her son, Ian de Leon.

"Technically and clinically speaking, the cause of death was acute respiratory failure," he relayed.

During a press conference, Ian clarified that his mother did not pass away during the operation itself.

"She was being operated on, and after that, she had a hard time breathing, and eventually, all things went downhill from there, and that's why they had to do another procedure after that," he revealed.

Nora passed away at the age of 71 on April 16.
