Michael V. marks 31st wedding anniversary with wife Carolina Bunagan

Michael V., also known as Bitoy, took to social media to pen a message as he celebrated his 31st wedding anniversary with his wife, Carolina Bunagan.

On his Instagram page, Bitoy looked back on their journey as a couple, reminiscing about the day they said their vows.

"31 years na kaming mag-asawa. Marami nang nabago pero somehow parang kailan lang when we exchanged our first 'I DOs' in front of the Mayor of Calamba," he recounted.

Bitoy admitted that, like any other couple, their marriage has not been without its challenges. "Sa mata ng iba, parang effortless ‘yung marriage namin. Pero kagaya ng iba, tao rin lang kami; napupuno, nagagalit, nagsisisi," he confessed.

He then opened up about what he believes is the key to their lasting relationship. "Ang pinagkaiba lang siguro namin sa ibang sumuko na e matiyaga kaming magmahal at magpatawad. Kahit minsan, feeling namin e sawang-sawa na kami sa isa’t-isa, hindi pa rin pala. Lamang pa rin ‘yung humility kesa pride; ‘yung commitment kesa indifference; ‘yung pagmamahal kesa sama ng loob," he relayed.

To end his post, Michael V expressed his hopes for their future and reaffirmed his love for his wife. "I’m praying na sana ang mamagitan na lang sa ‘tin is true peace and happiness. I love you @ayoito. Happy Anniversary."

In a recent interview with Bernadette Sembrano in her latest YouTube vlog, Bitoy recalled that he first met Carolina in college.

"Ano kami, kapareho kami ng school," he shared. "Tapos kapagka may projects sila, plays ganyan, kailangan nila ng actors, kami kinukuha nila. Doon kami nagkakilala."

Bitoy earned his degree in Mass Communication from Pamantasan ng Lungsod ng Maynila.

In the same interview, Carolina described Bitoy as a thoughtful husband.

"Ang sabi nga ng mga anak ko ang love language niya, he showers you with gifts. Siguro having come from where we did, pareho kaming humble beginnings naman — laki siyang tenement, ako laking Tondo eh — so we grew up with bare necessities ba," Carolina said.

On her message for her husband, Carolina offered a simple but loving reminder: "Just keep doing what makes you happy kasi kapag masaya ka mas makakapagsaya ka eh."
