EXCLUSIVE: BGYO’s Akira shares how his faith has grown deeper

“Na-develop yung faith ko with God. Based din siguro sa mga nangyari, sa experience ko sa buhay. Mas naging close ako with God. Siguro, through praying, through believing, and through loving God. Siguro dun din naga-evolve yung faith ko with Him,” shared Akira Morishita of the Filipino boy group BGYO about how his faith has deepened over the years.

In an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN, Akira shared that his faith is still something that continues to grow and develop: “Hanggang ngayon naman nagde-develop nang nagde-develop yung paniniwala ko sa Kanya. And, I think, nasa tamang direksyon naman yung buhay ko. Kasi, I trust Him and I love Him.”

He shared that his Holy Week plans was to be surrounded by family.

“I think I'm just gonna spend time with family po sa Holy Week and rest. Baka wala akong masyadong gawin sa social media para makabonding ko rin yung family ko. Kasi, nasa Bulacan sila and nandito ‘ko sa QC nakatira. So, medyo matagal-tagal nang hindi masyadong nakakapag-bond and nakakasama sila sa isang bahay. So, makabonding and spend time with them lang talaga,” he shared.

Meanwhile, when asked if there’s anything he wishes he could redo in his life, Akira shared that he’s happy with how things have turned out and is grateful for everything he’s experienced so far.
“I don't think na magiging ganito ako, magiging si Akira ako kung hindi rin naman dahil sa mga past mistakes na nagawa ko or siguro sa buhay ko or yung mga challenges na dumating sa buhay ko. So, I think I won’t reset my life,” Akira emphasized.

Aside from performing with his fellow boy group members, Akira has also ventured into acting in recent years. He starred in the online series Bola Bola in 2022. In 2023 and 2024, he took on a role in the stage musical Tabing Ilog: The Musical where Akira portrayed Rovic, a character originally played by John Lloyd Cruz in the 1999 TV series.
