MANILA -- Screen veteran and ABS-CBN executive Charo Santos learned a "powerful lesson" in humility from APO Hiking Society member Jim Paredes.

This is what she revealed in her newest "story time," which was uploaded on her social media accounts on Tuesday.

In the video, Santos recalled a moment in 1995 when she had to tell Paredes and Gel Santos Relos that their show, "Tatak Pilipino," had to end due to low ratings.

"Maganda 'yung programa, award-winning. You know, it ran on for a year, then after a year, medyo bumaba 'yung ratings, and then advertisers started to disappear, and the inevitable had to happen. And ako po ang naatasan as a programming director to talk to the hosts and say na kailangan nang tapusin ang programa. I met with Jim and Gel at sinabi ko 'yung reasons behind it, tinanggap naman nila," she said.

Santos thought everything was okay until one day, during a team building for APO Hiking Society, Paredes told her that she's "heartless."

The singer pointed out that she announced the cancellation of "Tatak Pilipino" on his birthday.

"Jim suddenly blurted out, 'You know, Charo, you're so heartless.' Nabigla ako-- parang, ha? I mean why? Why are you saying, that anong nagawa ko?" she said. "Sabi niya, 'You couldn't even wait. You know, when you cancelled 'Tatak Pilipino,' it was my birthday.'"

"Oh my God, natunaw ako sa hiya, I said sorry many times," she added.

Santos then shared the "huge" lesson she learned from what happened.

"I realized that actors, talents are not just a cog in the showbiz machine, they are persons who get hurt. Tinuro ko po 'yon sa lahat ng mga minentor ko afterwards--I took note of all the birthdays of all our talents. And from then on, we never cancelled a program on any of their birthdays," she said.

Santos concluded her video by saying thank you to Paredes.

"And Jim, if you are watching this, thank you so much for teaching this huge lesson in humility," she said.
