Kapamilya actress Sharlene San Pedro broke her silence and shared her opinion on her X (formerly Twitter) account following the hate messages she received after the ABS-CBN Ball 2025. The former child star was a trending topic on social media after she was unable to accommodate the request of a fan for a picture at the entrance of the star-studded event.

Sharlene maintained that she was only following the rules given to them–– they weren’t allowed to have selfies with the fans.

“Uy viral pala ‘yung isang video ko sa facebook. sumunod lang naman ako sa sinabi sakin na bawal , parang kasalanan ko pa,” she wrote.

In the video, a fan asked Sharlene for a photo to which she responded with “bawal eh” in a friendly manner. Several netizens took offense at this and started berating her on social media–– going as far as tagging her.

Despite this, the Star Magic talent doesn’t mind the bad attitude accusations thrown at her as she is secure with who she really is as a person. She added that she aim to get any attention that night, and that she was just happy to attend the ABS-CBN Ball.

“Saka okay lang sakin masabihan ng masungit kasi hindi naman totoo so hindi ako nasasaktan. 🙊 and to set the record straight hindi ko po gusto ng atensyon that night.. umattend lang po ako,” she added.

Friends and fans came to her defense in the reply section and made sure to give her encouraging words. BINI member Gwen then empathized with Sharlene and expressed her thoughts for her friend.

“Pag di ka pumayag magpicture matik attitude shempre,” BINI Gwen replied.

“Napanuod ko nga yun millions ang views, at alarming ng comments mostly ng kanegahan na comments, galing pa sa matatanda na  ang quick mang judge Kaloka. Nanita ako ng matanda dun sila pa galit, opinion nya daw kasi yun,” a fan added.

Meanwhile, the Kapamilya star expressed her gratitude to everyone who showed her support and has been defending her from the other netizens.

“Salamat po sa mga nagtatanggol,” she ended.

Sharlene was one of the headturners for this year’s ABS-CBN Ball as she walked the red carpet wearing a sparkling, all-white gown that went perfectly well with the theme Spring Formal.

“Went to the ABS-CBN Ball last night and turned 26 somewhere along the way,” she captioned her post after the ball. She celebrated her 26th birthday on April 5.
