Singer and host Nikki Gil recently took to social media to share an emotional update about her daughter Maddie, who was diagnosed with Kawasaki disease.

In an Instagram post, Nikki opened up about the challenges their family faced during Maddie's week-long illness.

“What a week 😮‍💨💕🙏🏼 Maddie was diagnosed with Kawasaki Disease — something we had never even heard of. And seeing our little girl in pain, hooked to IVs, enduring tests and meds, was the hardest thing we’ve ever gone through as parents. :(,” Nikki wrote.

According to the Mayo Clinic, Kawasaki disease is a condition that causes inflammation in the walls of small to medium-sized blood vessels throughout the body. It most commonly affects the coronary arteries in children, which supply oxygen-rich blood to the heart.

 Despite the difficulty of the experience, Nikki said their family found strength in faith and support from others.

 “But even in the scariest moments, God showed up—in the peace He gave, the people He sent, and the healing He allowed. We give Him all the glory for carrying us through and for Maddie’s recovery. 🙏🏼🙌🏽,” Nikki added.

 Now that Maddie is in recovery, Nikki expressed gratitude to the medical team, friends, and family who supported them throughout the ordeal.

 “Also so thankful for our village—every message, prayer, meal, visit, and word of encouragement meant the world to us. 🥺 And to our amazing medical team, especially Dr. @romeonuguidmd , you were all heaven-sent. 🙏🏼,” she continued.

 Nikki’s post included heartfelt photos from their hospital stay, showing moments when loved ones came to visit and uplift Maddie. One touching photo showed Maddie being embraced by her older brother, Finn, as they returned home.

 “We’re finally home with our brave girl, and while recovery continues, our hearts are filled with gratitude. God is so, so, so good. 💕,” she wrote.

 Celebrities and netizens quickly flooded the comments section with support for the family.

 “Such brave girls, both you and little Maddie. ❤️ I’m glad you guys are now home. 🙏🏼,” actress Jessy Mendiola commented.

 Cristal Belo remarked, “Never easy mama but I’m sure you did a great job and glad to hear she is much better ❤️”

 Maddie is Nikki’s youngest child with husband BJ Albert. The couple recently celebrated Maddie’s third birthday in October 2024.

 “Little Miss Madeline turned 3 a few days ago 🥰🎀💕 I love you my favorite girl 💕 Happy to have witnessed your Frozen dreams come true ❄️☃️😆,” Nikki said in a birthday greeting.
