Enchong’s 11-minute talk was about the three versions of himself–– his 17-year-old self, his 27-year-old self, and his 33-year-old self. He shared how those three different points in time shaped him as a person today.

“Each one faced a moment of loss and transformation. I realized, just like the lobster, we had to go through our own personal molting–– we have to shed ourselves. Yes, it’s uncomfortable, yes we become vulnerable, but in every stage, we become better,” he added.

On his Instagram post, the Kapamilya star admitted that he didn’t expect to give a TEDx talk as early as 36 years old.

“It’s something I envisioned my future self will be doing. I just didn’t realize it would come this early in my life because I don’t think I’m qualified or experienced enough to share my story,” he admitted.

Enchong expressed that because of these doubts, he questioned his decision to take part in it the night before his talk.

“I had doubts the night before and asked myself why did I say yes to a speaking engagement in a time where my schedule is extremely packed. Fast forward, for a topic of Turning points: Championing New Directions - I’m extremely happy I said Yes,” he said.

Despite the doubts he had, he maintained that he won’t forget his first ever TEDx talk as it was one for the books.
