While South Korean superstar Song Joong-ki has yet to visit Manila, he has traveled to the central island of Cebu, where the local cuisine left a lasting impression on him.

"I have been to Cebu a long time ago and stayed there for quite a while," the 39-year-old actor recalled in a video posted Tuesday by IAM Worldwide, the Filipino health and wellness company that he endorses.

"I still remember how delicious Filipino food was back then."

Now that he is set to visit Manila, Joong-ki is excited to indulge in more local dishes.

"This time as I go back to Manila. I'd love to ask locals for recommendations and try some authentic Filipino dishes," he said.

"To my fans in Manila, if you have any local food recommendations, please leave them on my Instagram," he told fans through the clip.

Joong-ki is set to headline the "IAM Song Joong-ki: Live in Manila" fan meet at the Mall of Asia Arena on May 24, which will mark his first event in the Philippine capital.

Tickets—priced between P2,500 to P12,500— can only be purchased through IAM Worldwide product purchases, with a presale exclusive to IAM members running until April 6. Meanwhile, the general sale will begin on April 7.

One of the most popular actors from South Korea, Joong-ki is known for starring in the dramas "Descendants of the Sun," "Vincenzo" and "Reborn Rich."
