Carats, or loyal supporters of K-pop supergroup SEVENTEEN, might be sad as Wonwoo is set to enlist in April 2025, but in the meantime, here are some fun facts about the quiet charmer of the group that his stans will surely miss:

Wonwoo pronunciation

Born as Jeon Won-woo, he is better known by his stage name, Wonwoo. His Korean name is romanized as "won-u" or "ueon-u."

The first syllable "won" is pronounced like the English word "won," but with a slightly shorter starting sound, closer to "on." The second syllable "woo" is pronounced like the "oo" in "who" or "too," rather than the typical English "u."

So, when pronounced together, Wonwoo sounds like “Wuh-nu,” with a softer “won” and an “oo” sound like in “who.”

Another fun fact about Wonwoo’s idol name is the meaning behind the Korean characters. The word "Won" means "round," while "Woo" translates to "help" or "assist." Together, his name can be interpreted as "helping people with a rounded heart," symbolizing kindness and support.

Wonwoo’s MBTI

Wonwoo took the MBTI (Myers-Briggs Type Indicator), a widely used personality assessment tool that categorizes people into 16 different personality types based on their preferences in key areas of life.

In 2019, during an episode of Going Seventeen, Wonwoo took the test by himself and revealed that he is an INFJ personality type. According to 16personalities.com, INFJs are known for their Introverted, Intuitive, Feeling, and Judging traits. They approach life with deep thoughtfulness and imagination, guided by their inner vision, personal values, and a quiet, principled version of humanism.

He loves cats.

Wonwoo has shown his love for animals especially for cats through several thoughtful actions. In both 2019 and 2022, he donated his personal items for auction to benefit Nabuya Cat Shelter, an animal shelter in Seoul. During a fansign event, he also shared that he feeds stray cats in his neighborhood, demonstrating his kindness toward animals.

When asked by a fan if he would ever get a cat, Wonwoo revealed that while he loves cats, his busy schedule makes it difficult to care for one properly. He explained that he wouldn’t have the time to play with or even feed it himself.

Another fun fact: Wonwoo’s SEVENTEEN emoji is a cat, further showcasing his fondness for these furry companions.

He has his own photography account.

Using the Instagram handle @film_jww, which is based on his real name Jeon Won-woo, the idol shares his personal photography. His feed includes stunning shots of beautiful buildings, landscapes, and even iconic destinations like the Eiffel Tower.

He likes spicy instant ramen and gaming.

Wonwoo is known for his love of spicy instant ramen, especially the chicken flavor. In fact, some of his fellow SEVENTEEN members, including Dino, have noticed his obsession, with Dino joking that Wonwoo eats it for every meal and should consider cutting back.

In addition to his love for food, Wonwoo is also an avid gamer. He revealed that gaming was the only hobby he had during his trainee days, and he even used to stream his gameplay years ago, giving fans a glimpse into his gaming world.

King of Affirmations

Wonwoo’s stans have always admired his sweet and thoughtful nature, especially on the South Korean platform Weverse. He often posts inspiring words and affirmations to brighten his followers' days. He also checks in on them, asking if they’ve eaten and reminding them to stay healthy and avoid getting sick.

There was even a time when Wonwoo made sure to fulfill a promise to his fans. After forgetting to post a requested selfie, he quickly followed through and shared one, showing his dedication to keeping his word and making sure his fans were happy.

He lives with co-member Mingyu.

In a 2020 interview, Wonwoo revealed that he was sharing a room with Mingyu. The pair were assigned as roommates through a game of rock-paper-scissors. However, recent reports suggest that both now have solo rooms.

Interestingly, in a 2022 TikTok video, Wonwoo shared that if he had the chance to choose his roommates, he would pick everyone from SEVENTEEN, showcasing his close bond with all of his members.
