With the ABS-CBN Corporation’s recent signing with Ayala Land Inc (ALI) for the sale of a portion of its property in Quezon City, Kapamilya artists have been taking the opportunity to pose in front of the iconic ABS-CBN tower which has been a landmark of the compound for more than five decades now. Last March 4, Zsa Zsa Padilla shared her sentiments in an Instagram post about the many memories she has about the property before it became what it is today.

“I’ve witnessed the many transformations of the ABS-CBN compound over the years. When I was beginning my singing career in 1983, the space was still used by PTV 4, and I vividly remember promoting my songs in one of the studios. The ELJ building we know today was just a parking lot back then,” she wrote.

In the same post, Zsa Zsa also remembered all the iconic Pinoy shows that helped shaped the generation when ABS-CBN reopened. She wrote, “During the Aquino administration, ABS-CBN reopened its doors, and I had the privilege of doing a musical special for a season. Then came a grand new chapter—shows like Home Along da Riles, Palibhasa Lalake, and The Sharon Cuneta Show marked the network’s resurgence, bringing unforgettable moments to Filipino households.”

Zsa Zsa also recalled one of the milestones in her career after joining the ASAP family over thirty years ago. “In 1996, I became a regular on ASAP, and from that moment on, the show became part of my life. Fast forward to the present, and standing with my ASAP family at the iconic ABS-CBN tower for Patrol the other night, I couldn’t help but feel a deep sense of melancholy. This place holds decades of history, memories, and milestones—not just for us, but for everyone who grew up watching. Knowing that the next time we return, the tower may no longer be there, makes this moment even more bittersweet.”

Last weekend, Zsa Zsa celebrated the 30th anniversary of ASAP along with her fellow Kapamilya artists like Regine Velasquez, Ogie Alcasid, Pops Fernandez, Erik Santos, Jona, and Angeline Quinto, among others. In her post, she wrote, “Happy 30th, ASAP! It’s has been a blessing to be part of the Philippines’ longest running musical variety show! Thank you! 😊”

Zsa Zsa celebrates her 42nd year in showbiz this year. Last year, the 60-year-old Kapamilya artist underwent laparoscopic surgery in Singapore to correct a ureter problem.

She is the mother of It’s Showtime host Karylle Tatlonghari, who is her eldest out of her three daughters which also include Zia and Nicole Quizon. She is currently in a relationship with longtime partner architect Conrad Onglao.
