Actress-content creator Rica Peralejo and pastor Joe Bonifacio opened up about their love story.

In a recent interview with Luchi Cruz-Valdes for her YouTube vlog,  the couple shared how their relationship blossomed from a chance meeting at a church event to a deeper connection formed through blogging.

Joe recalled that they first met at a church event. "We were at a church event and then the church I was attending at that time invited this young, upcoming star, Piolo Pascual. He was very generous with his time and happy to share about his own journey and his faith in God so he came and he brought a few of his celebrity friends," he recalled.

Joe was a campus missionary at that time for the church. Rica happened to be one of the celebrity friends that Piolo brought along.

"That's the first time I saw her in person, very pretty in person... And we didn't really talk that much that day," he recounted.

While they didn’t interact much during their first meeting, they started developing feelings for each other through Multiply.com, a popular blogging platform at the time. "We had common friends who would invite us to stuff and nagka-developan talaga kami, nung natagpuan namin our blogs on multiply.com," Joe revealed. "[On Multiply] you're just really writing for yourself, ten, fifteen friends and then there I discovered her, she discovered mine, it was like internet pen pals," he recalled.

Rica echoed this sentiment, sharing that she was deeply impressed by Joe’s intellect, which shone through his Multiply blog. 

"[I'm] so fascinated with people who just know so much, who are very informative, very intelligent," she shared. "That is exactly who this guy is kasi na parang you married Wikipedia, like he knew so much." 

"When I would read his thoughts grabe ang tali-talino nitong tao na 'to," Rica recounted. "You know when you date a lot of people, you also don't have connection with some of them na parang ilang beses ka na nagsalita, ilang beses na sila nagsalita... pero wala talagang connection. So I guess for us, more than the talino, we really have the same value for a lot of things."
