True to his moniker, ‘Ang Survivor Lad ng United Kingdom,’ Josh Ford has overcome many challenges and is now fulfilling his father’s dream by joining Pinoy Big Brother: Celebrity Edition.

During their hotel arrest prior to entering the iconic house, Josh exclusively shared with PUSH ABS-CBN why it has always been a goal for him to join the reality show.

“It has always been my dream talaga. It's not only my dream, pero pangarap rin ng dad ko ‘yun. Kasi my dad loves seeing me on TV. He gets so proud. Kaya the fact that I'm here, alam niya rin to eh. I'm sure, lahat sila proud, you know, family ko and my friends,” he shared.

In previous interviews, Josh revealed that his British father passed away in 2017, a loss that marked his first major heartbreak. Now that he’s an official housemate, Josh sees this both a challenge and opportunity for people to get to know him better.

“I think siguro ‘yung challenge dun talaga is makikilala ako ng tao more. Siyempre may mga taong hindi magkakagusto sa akin. May mga tao ring magkakagusto sa akin. So, you know, whatever happens, I'm just gonna stay true to myself at sana magustuhan nila ako lahat,” Josh expressed.

Josh added that he would try not to be affected by the judgment he may receive on social media. “With the judgment, ako siguro I'm gonna try not to be affected by it. Kasi syempre, kung totoo ka naman sa sarili mo, at pinapakita mo naman yung totoong ugali mo, then why bother? If you know who you are and you're positive na okay ka naman, just stay positive talaga and focus on the future.”

As seen in the episodes, meeting new people from diverse backgrounds is something Josh is good at, given his naturally sociable personality.

“Siguro ‘yung asset ko na doon is I'm very sociable, you know. I love meeting new people at natutuwa ko malaman yung iba't ibang background ng iba't ibang tao,” he said.

But if there are any big challenges for Josh in entering the house, it would be the lack of privacy and not having access to gadgets. “Siguro ‘yun lang. ‘Yung sa shower. Parang ‘yung privacy ba? That's okay naman. If I can live without gadgets? Feeling ko naman kaya ko eh. Pero for a long period of time gusto ko makitang challenge na yun,” he admitted.

Meanwhile, Josh, who portrayed the young version of James Reid in several projects including the hit 2015 romantic comedy series On the Wings of Love, mentioned how fun it would be to stay in the house with the Kapamilya leading man.

“I worked with him before nung I was really young so gusto ko naman makita kung naalala niya pa ako or not,” Josh remarked.

Aside from James, Josh also shared that he’s a fan of the BaiLona love team, consisting of Bailey May and Ylona Garcia, from Pinoy Big Brother 737 in 2015. 

“I'm sort of a love team guy. So, mahilig ako mga romance-romance sa loob. So, siguro ‘yung part ni Bailey and ni Ylona. You know? Kinikilig ako dun and Bailey's British as well,” he revealed.
