But before entering the PBB house, the Kapuso artist talked to PUSH ABS-CBN about her hopes and fears about joining the country’s longest running reality competition.
At 16 years old, Charlie is known as the “Bubbly Bread Teener ng Cagayan de Oro” and the youngest housemate to join this season. “I’m scared about a lot of things but I think it comes with the challenge. Madami talaga. I’m scared that people would look down on me dahil bata ako. That’s my number one fear at the moment,” she tells PUSH ABS-CBN in an exclusive interview.

The Fil-British artist also shared that she plans to show nothing but her genuine self throughout the show. “I think pagpasok ko dun I’m going to be true to myself kasi hindi mo matatago ‘yung totoong ugali mo kasi mapapagod ka. I’m just going to stay true and be myself talaga. I don’t know how I’m going to do it but I’m going to do it.“

“One thing I’m going to look forward to doing is to enjoy na rin kasi it’s the only chance I get,” she added. “I’m really excited to meet the ABS-CBCN housemates kasi I’ve never really met ABS-CBN artists and as a GMA artist, I really want to other artists and ask them about how showbiz goes for them too. So that’s one thing I’m excited for.”

A self-confessed fan of PBB, Charlie singled out PBB Gen 11 Rain Celmar as the housemate that stood out for her the most. “Definitely si Rain, si Rain from last season. There’s something calm about her that I haven’t really seen sa ibang tao at sa ibang pumasok sa loob. Parang she’s so chill and so fun at the same time. Gusto ko yung energy niya.”

Charlie also said that she knows joining PBB will definitely change her career, but being part of a reality show is also a double-edged sword. “I think it’s going to challenge my career kasi a lot of people see us as artists lang. They don’t see us as people na nagkakamali rin. I think it’s going to be a challenge especially if we make mistakes inside and how people are going to view us. And it’s also going to be exciting kasi malalaman din ng mga fans namin ‘yung totoong ugali namin,” she explained.

“Cancel culture is such a controversial topic. Some people say that it’s right, some people say that it’s too much or OA. I think we should find like a good middle ground to it,” she added. “I will be handling it after depending on how much it really matters. If it’s a big deal then we should definitely address it. But if it’s just something so small that people think too much about, I’ll just leave it alone.”
