Singer-songwriter TJ Monterde revealed that one of his most personal compositions to date is a heartfelt song written for his future daughter.

In a recent interview with Bernadette Sembrano on her YouTube vlog, TJ shared the story behind his unreleased song, "Aurora," which was initially inspired by the breathtaking Aurora Borealis.

"Nung pumunta kami ng Canada, nag-tour kami, ako muna wala si KZ (Tandingan, his wife), tapos may chance na makakita ng Aurora Borealis. Pumunta 'yung  lahat ng team pero nung gabing 'yun, sabi ko hindi ako pupunta. Parang na-realize ko, hindi ako pupunta kasi sabi ko if I was going to see this wonder for the first time, gusto ko kasama ko si KZ," he recalled.

That wish came true later when the couple returned to Canada together. "So fast forward to last year natuloy siya, magkasama kami sa Canada, sa tour ko, nakita namin 'yung Aurora Borealis."

The magical moment moved TJ so deeply that it became the seed for a song. What began as a tribute to a natural wonder gradually transformed into something far more personal.

"Parang alam mo 'yung the magic of songwriting... Habang tumatagal, nagpro-progress 'yung song, na-realize ko, I was talking about the northern lights but eventually [nag-iba] 'yung [direction ng] kanta tapos 'yung lyrics pa rin niya, 'Aurora I will wait for you. I know I will see you soon as you dance to my tune.' Tapos sabi ko, 'Aurora, let your colors bloom. I will give you my moon.' Kasi 'yung Aurora 'pag merong moon hindi siya nakikita," he relayed.

Eventually, TJ realized he was no longer writing about the skies but expressing his dream of becoming a father to a baby girl one day.

"Nung nagtagal, eventually hindi siya about sa Aurora Borealis kaya sobrang naging personal nun kasi it evolved into a song na prayer of waiting na someday magkaroon kami ng baby girl and 'pag nangyari 'yun, Aurora 'yung name... kaya sobrang personal nung song,"  

He went on: "Kaya hindi ko pa siya nirerecord 'yung song na 'yun. Parang inaabangan muna namin. Parang ini-ingatan ko muna 'yung song. But eventually I am going to release it."

TJ shared that he dreams of becoming a girl dad in the future. "If ever meron akong baby, gusto ko babae, kaya dun pumunta 'yung kanta."

The singer relayed that he and KZ are planning to have a baby in the next two years.
