Pilipinas Got Talent judge Eugene Domingo lauded content creator Sassa Gurl for being vocal about her opinions on social issues.  

In her recent vlog, the actress-comedian laid out her observations about how Sassa utilizes her platform for patriotic advocacies.  

“Nakikita ko na ang lakas ng dating sa ‘yo ng mga may social relevance na mga projects. Parang napaka-vocal mo at napaka-expressive mo pagdating sa mga isyung mas makabayan,” she said while in a sit-down talk with the famous Tiktoker.  

Eugene also underscored that Sassa has not only been vocal about the issues of LGBTQIA+ community, of which she is a part, but rather on issues concerning the entire country.  

The PGT judge revealed what she liked the most about Sassa: “What you offer, especially you, I like it because it’s so fearless.” 

Furthermore, the actress-comedian also commended the content creator for her performance on her 2024 political thriller film “Balota,” which talked about a very relevant topic — elections.  

“Meron akong nakita sa’yo. Meron isang side dun na medyo hindi namin nakikita sa mga posts mo. Medyo may nakita ako sa ‘yong seriousness,” she said, talking about her observations on the film. 

Being a veteran in her field, Eugene gave some advice to the prominent Tiktoker.  

“Advice ko lang sayo as someone, as an artist, as an actor who’s ahead of you by years, I’m not saying any status, is just enjoy the journey, and as much as possible, don’t lose your authenticity,” she said.  

Comparing her generation to the present one, she asserted that young comedians now possess “politically aware correctness” when it comes to delivering their punch lines.  

“For example, (in my film) Kimmy Dora, may line si Kimmy na by ‘special’ meaning mongoloid type of way. May ganong dialogue. ‘Pag ngayon mo binitawan ‘yun, cancelled ka na. Merong toilet humor but nevertheless, it’s not as intense as today,” she said, drawing the line between the comedy of today and the past.  

Eugene also has a message for the youngsters who would like to pursue the same path as hers.  

“The first thing that you should feel is not to feel anything,” she said. “Express yourself, ‘wag kayong matakot na ‘ay hindi kasi ganito ‘yung nakasanayan, hindi kasi ganito ‘yung ano.’ No, [bring] us something new. How will we know kung hindi natin makikita.” 

In the nearly 26-minute vlog, Sassa Gurl revealed that in June, she will star in a feature film funded by a brand. 

The Tiktoker has been very open about her political views, especially during the 2022 presidential elections where she actively took part in a campaign of the candidate she supported.
