Kapamilya actor Sam Milby couldn’t help but get emotional when asked about his recent breakup with former Miss Universe Catriona Gray. In an interview with King of Talk Boy Abunda, the Saving Grace star shared how it hasn’t been easy for him despite what other netizens would assume.

Sam previously confirmed his breakup with Catriona last month in an exclusive interview with ABS-CBN News.

When asked about details of the reason why they decided to part ways, the Kapamilya star maintained his position to keep things private between the two of them. He, however, expressed his frustration of people who assume things based on misinformation found on social media.

“Honestly, not well. Like I said, any breakup is not easy. It’s hard to talk about ‘yung breakup namin. It's something I didn't want to talk about… It was mainly to clear ‘yung issue ‘cause it's so sad because with social media now, people just want to connect so many things and believe so many things na walang katotohanan,” he said.

Sam clarified that his former friend, Moira dela Torre, had no part in their breakup and wanted to clear her name. He also affirmed his previous revelation that he is no longer friends with Moira due to reasons both parties haven’t disclosed.

“I felt the need to clear ‘yung issue na there was no third party and ‘yung sinasabi nila na si Moira ‘yung third party. I wanted to make that clear. It’s something that I actually didn’t want to talk about. Sa amin ni Cat, we’ve always been private about our relationship. Out of respect sa kanya, I still don’t feel comfortable talking about our relationship,” Sam added.

He added how rough the past few weeks have been for him, especially when they separated from each other. In the interview, he couldn’t help but break down when asked about their status.

“It’s been rough. No breakup is easy. It’s really been rough. It wasn’t only magboyfriend-girlfriend kami–– we were engaged. To have that not push through… it’s been really rough, honestly,” he said.

Sam maintained that he won’t be going into details and wouldn’t discuss anything further in the future out of respect for Catriona.

“I don't want to go into details. The more you talk about any issue, mas maraming bala ‘yung mga tao to use against you. I don’t want to give [that]; there’s no point. I have so much love and respect on both sides, I would want to believe but it hasn’t been easy at all,” he explained.

When asked about his dreams now he’s entering his 40s, Sam didn’t hesitate to answer that his dream was to have his own family.

“I still dream of having a family… I’m 40. My dad–– baka maging kagaya ng dad ko–– he was 49 when I was born. That’s not my ideal age. Nung dati ‘yung mga interviews ko, lagi kong sinasabi na gusto kong maging dad ng mga 35. The sad truth is you can make so many plans in life but life doesn’t happen the way you want it to,” he said.
