Seguerra, partner of singer Aiza “Ice” Seguerra, said she had just arrived from San Francisco via a Philippine Airlines flight when she noticed that 2 items - an expensive Apple Watch Ultra 2 and a laptop - inside her checked-in luggage were missing.

“Pagdating ko, dumating naman ‘yung maleta. Siyempre, normally kapag dumadating naman ‘yang maleta, hindi mo na siya chine-check ‘yang sa loob. Pagdating namin sa bahay, binili ko ito ng watch, ‘yung Apple Watch tsaka laptop. Pagbukas namin, wala na talaga,” Dino said in a TeleRadyo Serbisyo interview.

Dino said she had placed the laptop and watch inside her checked luggage because she was carrying 3 laptops inside her backpack and would exceed her carry-on limit. “May limit kasi sa eroplano kung gaano kabigat.”

The couple said they do not know where the luggage was opened and the missing items pilfered.

Dino said she doubts that Transportation Security Administration agents in the US confiscated the laptop and watch since they would usually put a notice of inspection inside the luggage that the items were prohibited or pose a security risk and were thus removed.

PAL management and an assistant of Transportation Secretary Vince Dizon contacted the couple after Seguerra’s Facebook post about the theft went viral.

A two-day PAL investigation of the theft, however, came up empty after bag handling staff who were on duty during that time underwent a body search and CCTV footage of the baggage area was reviewed.

PAL management is set to compensate the couple for the stolen watch, priced at 1,000 US dollars, but will not be paying for the lost laptop.
