Before stepping into the Pinoy Big Brother house, actor River Joseph revealed that he has been a longtime fan of the show.

"Actually ever since I was a kid, I was watching PBB na," he recalled in an interview with PUSH ABS-CBN. "But then, I never thought to myself na, sasali rin ako in the future."

Although becoming a housemate had never crossed his mind, River didn’t hesitate when the opportunity came knocking.

"Pero when the opportunity came and nagtanong sila kung gusto mo sumali, nag-yes kaagad ako."

Known for his various acting roles on television, River expressed excitement about being able to show a more personal side of himself to the public.

"Siyempre 'yung career ko outside is acting. I always play different roles, roles na hindi naman malapit sa totoo kong ugali and finally here sa PBB, people will be able to see the true River," he said.

When asked what he was looking forward to inside the PBB house, River shared that it’s the chance to speak with Big Brother himself. "One thing I am looking forward to experiencing in the PBB house is talking to Big Brother. 'Cause siyempre all the other big celebrities went through this and talk to Kuya, and I want to be able to share my life to Kuya and hopefully learn something rin from Kuya," he said.

Despite his enthusiasm, River admitted to feeling nervous, particularly about the challenges ahead. "I'm nervous about 'yung mga tasks and 'yung siguro how the housemates will get along together. Pero feeling ko naman it will be smooth and easy," he stated.

When it comes to public criticism, River has come to accept it as part of the journey. "Siyempre you're dealing with judgment outside of the PBB house, I have no control over that. What the people think and what the people perceive, sa kanila na 'yun."

"All I do probably I will do my best inside the house and what's nice is we won't know rin kung ano 'yung mga sinasabi ng mga tao sa labas kaya hindi rin naman maapektuhan kami dahil dun," he added.
