Television host Christine Bersola-Babao expressed her joy and pride as her husband, veteran news anchor Julius Babao, received the Excellence in Broadcasting Lifetime Achievement Award at the recently concluded PMPC Star Awards.

Taking to social media, Christine shared a heartfelt message celebrating Julius’s achievement and his more than three decades of dedication to the broadcasting industry.

“And the STAR ⭐️ goes to… Julius Babao, Lifetime Achievement Award for excellence in News & Broadcasting. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 Congratulations Pappu Babe! I am witness to how you have worked so hard for 35 years now and counting,” Christine wrote.

She commended Julius’s passion for news broadcasting, which she described as his life’s mission.

“Your passion, dedication, and your untarnished reputation in the News & Broadcasting Industry is truly something we take pride in. First & foremost in your mind is your Life’s Mission to serve & help as many as you can,” she added.

Christine also highlighted Julius’s continuous evolution in the industry, acknowledging his transition from traditional TV and radio broadcasting to vlogging with his successful YouTube channel.

 “And TV & Radio Broadcasting (and in recent years, Vlogging on your highly successful YouTube Channel) have been your allies as platforms to carry out your Life’s Mission & calling,” she continued.

Expressing her love and support, she wrote, “I am so proud to be your wife, co-anchor, and partner for life to experience all these with you. I am so happy that I am part of your journey. I only pray for more blessings to come your way, more people to help, more stories to tell, more inspiration to spread.”

Christine also extended her gratitude to the PMPC for recognizing her husband's contributions

“Thank You to the PMPC & everyone who honored Pappu thru this award and tribute at the 38th PMPC Star Awards last night. ⭐️⭐️⭐️ The Star Awards was the first award giving body to give Julius his first Broadcasting Award in the 90’s,” she continued. “Everything has come in full circle.”

She concluded with a sweet note: “Again, babe, congratulations! You truly deserve this award! And all the other awards you have received so far this 2025. 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼 I salute and honor you. I Love You! 😘.”

On his personal social media page, Julius expressed how the award became one of the highlights of his career.

“It was PMPC who first recognized me in the early 2000’s and now they have bestowed upon me The Lifetime Achievement Award, Excellence in Broadcast Journalism. It was a full circle moment for me to receive the award in front of my mentors Jake Maderazo, Kabayan Noli de Castro & Korina Sanchez at the Dolphy Theater, in ABS-CBN where I practically grew up as a journalist, news anchor, radio & TV host,” Julius expressed.

Julius also shared his bittersweet emotions about the venue, noting, “It was also a bittersweet moment to receive the recognition in this wonderful theater that will soon be gone, demolished along with other buildings that were once our second home.”

Julius Babao was one of the distinguished television personalities honored at the 38th PMPC Star Awards, held on Sunday, March 23, at the Dolphy Theater inside the ABS-CBN compound.
