Proud dad Aga Muhlach shared in an Instagram post that he had "tears of joy" as his son, Andres Muhlach, received his first-ever award in the showbiz industry as the Best New Male TV Personality at the 38th PMPC Star Awards for Television. 

“Blessings coming your way, son. Keep up the good work. God be with you always. Always remember, His plans not ours. Congratulations!!! Proud of you ! Love you, man!,” he expressed, taking pride on his son’s achievement. 

Andres was recognized for his performance in a sitcom series he shared with his parents and twin sister, Atasha.  

“Two years ago, I received an award on behalf of my father, at aaminin ko na that time sobrang kinakabahan talaga ako. At two years later, nandito ako receiving my first award, at syempre kinakabahan pa rin ako,” the rising artist recalled in his acceptance speech.  

Following in the footsteps of his parents, Andres also dedicated his award to his family.  

“I’d also like to thank my family, my father who was also an inspiration to me, my mom who continues to help me every single day, and of couse my sister who I love so much,” he said. 

In the same post, Aga also expressed his appreciation for his daughter, Atasha, who is set to take the lead role in the Philippine TV series adaptation of 2017 Thai movie Bad Genius.

Charlene Gonzalez, in a separate post, also congratulated her son and thanked the individuals, institutions, supporters, who catapulted Andres’ victory.  

“Habang buhay kayo na nasa puso namin kayo. We love you all and we thank (you) from the bottom of our hearts. All for God’s glory,” she wrote.  

The Viva Artist Agency, of which Andres is a part of, also congratulated the rising artist.  

“Andres Muhlach, you did it! Congratulations on winning the BEST NEW MALE TV PERSONALITY at 38th PMPC Star Awards for Television for Da Pers Family! Your hard work and dedication truly paid off. Your VAA family is proud of you,” it said.   

Last Friday, March 21, the rising artist dropped a rendition of Hotdog’s breakthrough hit “Ikaw ang Miss Universe ng Buhay Ko“.

It was also the title of a movie his mom, who also holds the title of Binibining Pilipinas Universe 1994, did back in 1994.  As a singer, Andres has also contributed to the soundtrack of the sitcom he currently stars in with his family.
