Ivana Alawi was reunited with the pedicab driver who used to fetch her to and from school 20 years ago.

"Magiging pedicab driver tayo for today," Ivana shared in her latest YouTube vlog. "Si Mama, nung bata ako, lagi niya akong sinasakay sa pedicab. Hatid-sundo ako papuntang school."

She recalled how the pedicab driver, John, would take her to school every day when she was just 11 to 13 years old. Now, years later, Ivana took it upon herself to find him and show her appreciation.

During their conversation, John fondly recalled a moment from the past when a block of cement fell on his foot while he was transporting another passenger. Ivana, upon hearing what happened, offered to open her piggy bank to help him.

"Narinig mo 'yung pinag-uusapan namin, tapos sabi mo sa mommy mo, pinabuksan mo 'yung alkansya mo. Bata pa lang siya, napakabait na talaga, matulungin," John recalled.

Although Ivana couldn’t recall the exact memory, she was clearly moved, saying: "Ang cute. Di ko kasi maalala 'yung story na 'yun pero na-touch naman ako. Nakakatuwa.”

As a heartfelt gesture, Ivana surprised John with a ₱20,000 cash gift. She also provided him with ₱10,000 for his wife's dialysis.

The reunion ended on a touching note, with Ivana offering to give John a ride on a pedicab, this time, with her in the driver's seat. "Nung bata ako sinasakay ako ni kuya John. Ngayon ako naman ang magsasakay sa kanya," she said.

Fans online praised Ivana for her humility and generosity, calling the reunion a beautiful reminder of paying it forward and remembering one's roots.

"That alkansya story na hindi maalala ni ate Ivana na nagawa niya proves that her kindness and generosity begins even pa nung mga panahong hindi pa siya vlogger... For some reason nakaka-melt siya ng heart," one fan commented.
