In just a few weeks, JM Ibarra will make his debut at the much-anticipated ABS-CBN Ball.

PUSH ABS-CBN had the opportunity to speak with the rising star during his first meet and measurement session with designer Neric Beltran.

"Well, sobrang excited kasi, well, unexplainable na excitement ‘yung nafe-feel ko. Kasi noon, I mean, napapanood ko lang sa social media or sa TV itong ABS-CBN Ball. Then now, kasama na ako sa mga lalakad sa red carpet. And, siguro, dagdag din sa excitement yung, siguro, itong ABS-CBN Ball din ‘yung mas magpapa-feel sa akin na isa na akong ganap na Kapamilya,” he expressed.

JM also expressed his gratitude to his styling team, humbly acknowledging that he's not really the type to focus on fashion.

“Ngayon ko lang na-feel ‘yung excitement pagdating talaga sa styling or sa mga susuotin kasi hindi naman talaga ako ‘yung mapormang tao,“ he admitted.

He went on to share how happy he is that his team based the outfit on his personality when creating it: “Nagustuhan ko rin ‘yung naging plano nila na binase nila sa personality ko. I feel with all of these people, mas naging excited pa ako sa darating na ABS-CBN Ball.”

Aside from the ball and his outfit, JM also shared how excited he is to be attending with his love team partner, Fyang Smith.

“Kahit ano namang trabaho, basta kasama ko si Fyang, nabu-boost ‘yung eagerness ko. Nabubuo ‘yung excitement kapag may trabaho na kasama ko si Fyang,” he said. “Lalo na dito sa darating na ABS-CBN Ball, sabay pa kaming maglalakad ng red carpet. So, sobrang memorable sa akin or sa aming dalawa nung mangyayaring ‘yun.”

Meanwhile, stylist Ton Lao teased the inspiration and style he has in mind for JM at this year’s ABS-CBN Ball.

“Yung look niya, classic pa rin. Very classic, gentleman with the twist, kasi ‘pag ako nag-style, usually gusto ko talaga very classic leading man look. Pero kaya tayo nag-collaborate with Neric para may touch of Neric, may twist. Kasi para nandun pa rin tayo sa team na spring formal kaya very light ‘yung color. Light ‘yung color and with embellishments para merong couture,” he told PUSH ABS-CBN.

Ton also shared what it's like dressing JM: “Nag-start kami few months ago. Si JM naman very simple, unassuming, mabilis katrabaho. Saka with his build, kahit anong ipasuot mo, usually bagay naman. Ako naman, ‘yung signature look ko as a stylist, usually dahil mostly men talaga binibihisan ko, ’yun talaga: very manly, very clean lang. Classic gentleman.”

The Filipino stylist has already worked with other popular actors, including Piolo Pascual, Daniel Padilla, Enrique Gil, and rising star Andres Muhlach.
