Dimples Romana once again proved to the netizens that she’s a hands-on mom after she shared a clip of her public speaking training session with her middle child, Alonzo Romeo Jose, on Instagram. 

“Rushed home to practice Kuya @alonzoasks for his Public Address in class tomorrow. Watch til the end and see the true dynamics of this home. MAGALING alonzo!! Mahusay #alonzoromeojose,” she wrote. 

In the five-minute video, the 42-year-old actress can be seen patiently giving tips on how her son could further improve his delivery of a speech about “eating health,” in preparation for a class activity.  

“Don’t get intimidated with the words that are harder to pronounce because if that happens, then your brain is overthinking. And when you’re overthinking, your tongue isn’t saying exactly what is in your mouth,” she told Alonzo.  

“In public speaking, you have to train yourself to actually have your mind and your tongue coordinate with one another,” she added.  

The 10-year-old Alonzo was seen struggling at first, but was attentively listening to his mother’s advice, until he got it after a few attempts.  

In the latter part of the video, Dimples complimented her son: “That’s amazing! Your diction is on point.  

The video ended with a lesson that the actress imparted: 

“We don’t aim for perfection here, kuya, that’s why I let you pick up from that last part,” she said. “One we’re aiming for is comprehension. I would rather have you go slow and understand what you’re saying, and the people you’re addressing it to would understand what you’re saying. Rather than being it perfect but nobody understood exactly what you’re trying to say.” 

Last February 12, the actress penned a heartfelt birthday message for Alonzo as he turned 10.  

“May this year bring you all the kindness and goodness you lovingly and selflessly give to each and everyone you come across in this lifetime. Funny how we already know it, this gift you have with people, how you charm them, make them feel your presence and love, the way you communicate yourself and your emotions with respect always, the gift of connection and compassion towards others, and yet we’re still in awe each time we get a phone call or a story about their experience with you, and they never fail to say how much you move them with your heart. We love you Kuya Alonzo. Always and forever. Happy Birthday anak,” she wrote.  

In 2023, Dimples shared how she was blessed to have Alonzo, whom she described as her “little charmer,” in their life after 12 long years of waiting.  

“Kuya #AlonzoRomeoJose gave us the loudest laughters, the warmest smiles and suddenly our then quiet family discovered music,” she said. “We danced in the morning til our toes hurt. We grooved to the music of our hearts. Alonzo painted our lives with the most vibrant of colors, he made all my tomorrows wonderful and bright. He is the PARTY. He gave me WINGS so I can soar and fly higher than I’ve ever been. He brought love that sets one’s soul free. 

Dimples is married to her non-showbiz husband Boyet Ahmee. They have three children, with Christiana Amanda Lauren "Callie" as the eldest and Elio Juan Manolo as the youngest.

The actress last appeared in the Kapamilya show High Street, a sequel of the drama series Senior High.
