From an avid audience member to a speaker, Kapamilya actor Enchong Dee fulfilled a “major dream” as he shared his story of success and failures at the TEDx Miriam College High School on Friday, March 21.

In an Instagram post on Thursday, March 20, the Pinoy Big Brother (PBB) host recalled his fascination with TED talks during the height of the COVID-19 pandemic.

“During lockdown, I would watch multiple TED talks every day. I have this huge admiration to all the speakers who stood up in a stage and allowed themselves to be vulnerable while being factual and motivational,” he said.

Inspired by the speakers he used to watch before, Enchong’s talk will focus on how his personal struggles molded him to become the person he is now.

“Tomorrow is a major dream come true, as I share the story of my failures and how it brought me closer to the person I aspire to be,” he said.

In an Instagram story, the actor expressed his appreciation for his friends who wished him well on this new venture.

"The overflowing love and support from my friends are so touching. Nawawala yung kaba ng puso ko. My brain is so focused so I can’t reply, know that I appreciate all of you,” he wrote in the story.

Some of his fellow artists also expressed support for his TED talk stint.

“Super proud kami sa;yo kuya!!!!!!,” Kapamilya actress Xyriel Manabat wrote in the comments.

Former Pinoy Big Brother housemate and Viva artist Heaven Peralejo also commented on the post: “Omgggg? So happy for you!!!”

The actor stood alongside various personalities who excelled in their respective fields namely Resty Collado, Jose Javier Reyes, Marilag Sadicon, Cleo Loque, and Deidre Morales.

“From trailblazers in film and media to champions of law, education, and advocacy, these speakers are set to spark new ideas, challenge perspectives, and push boundaries,” said the TEDx Miriam College High School in a separate post.

The TED talk was held at the Miriam College Henry Sy Sr. Innovation Center and was attended exclusively by the students.

A recorded video of the actor’s TED talk will be made available for public viewing at the TEDx YouTube Channel, however, details regarding its release were not disclosed.

The actor promised in his Instagram story that he will share the link of his talk once it is available.
