South Korean singer-actor Choi Bo Min

MANILA -- South Korean singer-actor Choi Bo Min has officially signed a contract under Universal Records and GLXY Talent Management, marking an exciting new chapter in his career. 

The announcement was made during his first-ever visit to the Philippines, where he expressed his enthusiasm for the warm welcome he received.

During an interview, Choi shared his excitement about being in the country for the first time. 

“First time in the Philippines, so I’m very excited right now,” he said.

Upon arriving, the first thing he did was take advantage of the tropical weather. “I went swimming because in Korea, it’s very cold right now. But the weather in the Philippines is very nice. When I arrived here, I went swimming,” he shared.

Aside from the scenery, Choi also enjoyed trying Filipino food for the first time. “I tried Filipino-style BBQ and lechon kawali,” he revealed, showing his appreciation for the country’s cuisine.

Choi was also touched by the overwhelming support of his Filipino fans, who greeted him upon his arrival.

“First, I was surprised because when I arrived in the Philippines, my fans came to the airport and gave me flowers, Filipino snacks, and letters. So I was very surprised and very thankful,” he said.

Asked why he decided to sign with Universal Records and GLXY Talent Management, he considered it an important question and chose to respond in Korean.

“Well, I met Ms. Kathleen (Dy-Go) of Universal Records and GLXY in Korea last year. We discussed many potential projects, and I felt really confident working with them. That’s why I’m here now,” he said in Korean.

Choi is set to work on a new series that will begin filming immediately, keeping him in the Philippines for a month.

Aside from acting, he is also focusing on his music career and revealed wanting to collaborate with Filipino singer-actor Sam Concepcion “because when I listen to his music, I like his music style.”

Before wrapping up, Choi took the time to express his gratitude to his loyal Filipino supporters.

“First, thank you to my Filipino fans. I feel that Filipino fans are very friendly, kind, and adorable. So when I shoot or record in the Philippines, I will give my all and always do my best. So stay tuned. Thank you!” he said.
