Kapamilya star Donny Pangilinan admitted that there is pressure in being announced as one of the new judges of the comeback season of Pilipinas Got Talent. During the media conference held earlier this week, the How To Spot A Red Flag actor shared why he said yes despite the pressure.

Donny will be joined by Kathryn Bernardo and Eugene Domingo as first timers to judge the prestigious reality talent program. Meanwhile, Freddie "FMG" Garcia will be the only judge to return from the previous seasons.

The Kapamilya actor shared that his stint as one of the judges during It’s Showtime’s Magpasikat back in 2024 gave him the opportunity to test out his skills as a judge. Netizens previously praised him on social media for being on point about his judgments.

Despite the praises he earned, he revealed that he had doubts as well and it wasn’t in his plans at all to be a judge. He claimed that he had hesitations about accepting the position–– just like his role now in PGT.

“Yung Magpasikat first of all, hindi yun talaga plano. I mean, hind yun planado. Parang, it just so happened na kailangan nila ng extra judge so they asked me if i have a spare week to be able to attend It’s Showtime. Sa una sa totoo lang, nag no ako kasi iniisip ko ano naman sasabihin ko diyan,” he shared.

Overcoming his doubts, Donny made sure to give it a try after a bit of convincing. He expressed how grateful he was that he was able to judge as he didn’t expect that it would land him a role in the upcoming PGT season.

“Hindi ko naman inexpect na ganito yung magiging kalabasan nun. Ako I’m just very grateful na siguro yun po yung nakita nila but to be honest I'm just speaking from what I feel and I’m just speaking from my heart what really genuinely feels right,” he added.

Donny shared how Magpasikat 2024 and his PGT stint are so similar to each other. He assured fans that he will continue to learn and grow in order to judge better and make sure that the next winner of PGT is a deserving one.

“Ako, I just promise na I’m gonna give it my all and I’m gonna keep learning. I’m entering here learning so much already from everyone here–– from sir FMG, Kath, Ms. Uge, even our hosts. Everyday, bago yung knowledge na nakikita ko and nararamdaman ko. Yung chemistry ng lahat, feel na feel ko talaga na everyone’s here for the same purpose,” he maintained.

“May pressure for sure. I’m just here as someone who is very new with an open mind just to see where this will go but I promise to give it my all and I promise na maghahanap talaga tayo ng talent worthy to call the next champion of PGT,” he ended.
