Kapamilya Actor Paulo Avelino refuses to follow the concept of love languages.

In the newest vlog of co-star Kim Chiu for their upcoming film My Love Will Make You Disappear, Paulo boldly said: “Hindi ako naniniwala sa love language eh.”

“I always think na sa isang relasyon, it’s a mixture of everything. The right balance of everything,” he explained.

Offering a fresh perspective, he asserted that the five common love languages (physical touch, words of affirmation, acts of service, giving gifts, and quality time) are mere guides that people follow.

“Parang sinulat lang ‘yun [love languages] tapos parang naging reference ng maraming tao. Pero sa isang relasyon naman, parang hindi dapat ‘yun ang nagiging basehan, at hindi dapat ‘yun ang nagiging standard,” he said.

Kim affirmed that her on-screen partner has never shared about a specific love language that he applies for himself.

“Lagi ko talaga siyang tinatanong kung ano ang love language niya, giving and receiving…pero never talaga sinagot. Akala ko this time, masasagot. Wala talaga yun dito eh!” Kim jokingly said.

In 2016, Paulo also shared a different take on marriage, saying he didn't believe in such a concept until he realized he’s just waiting for the right woman with whom he can share a lifetime.

“I’m just really waiting for the right one. Kaya nga tayo naghahanap ng relationship, that’s why we date people, you continuously test people or your relationship if ito na nga ba, kung pang habangbuhay na. Whenever naman I get into a relationship, I always consider that,” he said during a press conference for his previous movie The Unmarried Wife.

In 2021, he reaffirmed his previous statement in an interview with The Philippine Star, emphasizing on the importance of commitment when the “right person” comes.

“If you commit to something, you should be decided to be there and stick to it, to your commitment,” he stated.

Oftentimes teased by their fans about the real score between them, Paulo and Kim, famously known as KimPau, is set to hit the big screen on March 26 for their debut movie My Love Will Make You Disappear, directed by Chad Vidanes.

This film will be the love team’s third project together, with their first team up in the drama series Linlang which was followed by Philippine adaptation of K-drama series What’s Wrong with Secretary Kim?
