Singer and songwriter Juan Karlos Labajo honored the wish of a late fan, Trisha Macalagay, who tragically passed away in a fire at a university in Laguna. 

In a post shared by the family, JK first performed Trisha’s favorite song, his cover of “Through the Years” from his film Lolo and The Kid during his set at the Anilag Festival in Laguna.

“Ito yung song na gustong gusto niya. Trisha wanted to go tonight kaso lang… Trisha, kung nasaan ka man ngayon, para sa’yo ito,” Juan Karlos said in a video clip posted by Trisha’s family.

The family also shared a photo of Trisha, which Juan Karlos signed with a heartfelt message: “You are LOVED, TRISHA! With gratitude, Juan Karlos.”

Before Juan Karlos's performance, a close family member had posted on social media, hoping to fulfill Trisha’s wish of meeting her idol while she was still alive.

“Dear Juan Karlos, I have a very special task for Trisha Macalagay today and for her bereaved family, it is my mission for you to sign these beautiful portraits of her, as an avid fan of yours it will be her great joy and happiness as she watches over you sing your Rendition of the song 'Through the years' alam Ko na suntok sa dilaw na buwan ang kahilingang ito, subalit isang karangalan na maipa abot sa iyo ang kanyang huling kahilingan, ang  iyong presensya sa gabing ito ay ang bubuo sa unang pagtitipon Para Kay Trisha,” Macoy Fernandez posted on Facebook.

In a video he also shared, Juan Karlos promised to visit Trisha’s wake after his prior engagements to personally offer his condolences to the grieving family.

Elaine de Ramos, a relative of Trisha's, later shared photos of the singer’s visit, expressing gratitude for his humility and kindness.

“Thank you for making Trisha’s dream come true juan karlos. Such a humble gentleman! Nakaka hanga ka tunay, JK!” she wrote in a post.

“Watching her dream become a reality gave us a sense of hope and peace. Thank you for bringing so much comfort to our family and mostly to Trisha! 🙏✨,” she added.

Another family member, MJ Macalagay also posted, “Bunso alam ko ang saya mo ngayon. 😭 Yung ngiti at kilig mo.”

The “Ere” hitmaker later posted a simple yet heartfelt message on his Facebook page, paying tribute to his late fan.

“Maraming Salamat, Trisha Macalagay ❤️,” Juan Karlos wrote.

According to a previous post from Trisha’s family, the late fan had been looking forward to watching Juan Karlos perform at the Anilag Festival before the fire broke out.
