Today’s generation may know actress Ina Raymundo for her various roles in Kapamilya teleseryes like Can’t Buy Me Love, Ngayon at Kailanman, and La Luna Sangre, but to the previous generations, she will always be known for her iconic image as “Sabado Nights” girl, which she shot when she was a 19-year old model. The 1995 TV commercial, which then starred her and host-actor Paolo Abrera, made her a household name before she even joined showbiz officially and led to her starring in a movie of the same name released that year.

In her Instagram post last March 15, the 49-year-old actress and model looked back once again on the television ad that made her go viral long before the age of social media.

She wrote, “Thirty years ago on March 18, 1995, the Sabado Nights TV commercial was released. The 19-year-old me had no idea it would completely change my life, but it did, and I’ll be forever grateful. To this day, people still call me Sabado Nights wherever I go. Crazy! Cheers to an iconic ad that became part of pop culture! 🍻✨”

In 2015, Ina also celebrated the 20th anniversary of the project that made her a cultural phenomenon and an icon of 90s Pinoy culture.

She wrote, “Exactly 20 years ago today, San Miguel Beer's Sabado Nights commercial was aired. It changed my life.”

Before her unforgettable commercial, Ina was already working as a model for different local brands in her teens. In one throwback post, she shared, “#Throwback to my curly, sweet 16.😊 These photos were taken for a Kodak print ad. 🎞️♥️

#1992”

Ina is currently preparing to be part of the much anticipated Bench Body of Work Fashion Show happening on March 21 at the Mall of Asia, proving she still has what it takes to make heads turn just like in her iconic commerical.

Ina balances work with raising her five children with her Ukrainian-Canadian husband Brian Poturnak. When not working on camera, Ina also keeps herself in shape by dancing with her friends and working out at the gym with her daughters Erika Rae, Mikaela Jade, Anika Sage and Minka Eve. She has also has one son named Jakob currently studying college abroad.
