Robi Domingo, a former member of the fan-favorite and kilig-bringing boy group, reminisced about his time with the boys in an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN.

“Palagi tayo nagkakamali ah. Before ‘yung grupo ni Chie (Filomeno), tayo na ‘yung naging standard na never tayo nagsabay-sabay. Pero nandon pa rin ‘yung clamor,” he candidly shared.

Robi also remembered how they toured many different places, an experience that not only helped him earn money but also allowed him to gain brothers for life.

“We toured Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao. And because of that, nakapag-ipon ako to pay off my tuition fee for college. And more than that, it's a family that was created forcefully because of all the rehearsals na nangyayari,” he recalled. “And then ‘yun, sumama kami sa L.A. May Gigger Boys doon. And yeah, lots of different parts of the Philippines too. So yeah, I'm super grateful to the Gigger Boys.”

“Right after Pinoy Big Brother Teen Edition Plus, we were invited to guest first sa ASAP. It's like all the winners there. Big 4. My first stint was being on stage, kasama ko pa nun si Miss Nikki Gil. And then they had a tribute for the Big 4 during that time. And then the following week, we were called to be part of Supah Dance, kaming dalawa ni Josef (Elizalde). It's still there in my head kasi syempre sobrang memorable siya,” he mentioned.

Hindi ako marunong sumayaw noon. Until now hindi marunong sumayaw.”

He also mentioned how much he loved the overall experience, especially being surrounded by other celebrity friends from his generation including Enchong Dee and Sam Concepcion.

“It was a fun experience being with those boys and ‘yan, tumagal kami until 2011 or 2012, I guess,” Robi expressed.

Aside from dancing with the Gigger Boys, Robi was also a mainstay on ASAP's online counterpart, ASAP Chill Out, where he hosted alongside his co-members.

“During those times, mayroong beta project ang ASAP which was called ASAP Chill Out. It was an online show, kasi may umuusbong na parang mga URLs, URLs during that time. I remember, we started with a small camera sa likod, at katabi namin ‘yung mga catering. Ini-interview namin ‘yung mga artists behind the scenes,” Robi told PUSH ABS-CBN.

“Noong time na ‘yun, wala masyadong pumapansin sa amin. And then eventually, nag-shift na to social media. And we got the allocation, the budget that we needed. And then lumaki ‘yung set. ASAP Chillout became the IWant ASAP that it is today,” Robi shared.

Robi shared how thankful he is for the opportunity, as it provided him with the knowledge and skills he now uses as a host for some flagship Kapamilya shows.

"Because of that, nahasa ako (sa hosting) together with my time in MYX. And now, I am so privileged that they are giving me some of the best shows ng ABS-CBN because of the training that I had,” Robi added.
