“I’m excited and I’m very nervous because to be surrounded by such talented people, parang Oh My God, I have to be really prepared. To be part of this group, ito yung tunay na TNT, tried and tested. Ang titibay ng mga ito. I’m sure they’re all prepared,” he shared as he addresses all 48 returning contestants to the country’s longest running singing competition.

Being on the judging panel along with fellow hurados Karylle, Ogie Alcasid, and Jed Madela, Louie said that being on the segment has also helped boost his status since joining Tawag ng Tanghalan in 2016.

"Because of TNT, they are exposed and they can be watched on television or on a computer. Exposure does a big thing. It gives them confidence. It makes people know who they are. It makes them shine. They put the voice and the face together. So this is what TNT did.

"Even for me as a hurado, I’m a musical director and songwriter but because of Tawag ng Tanghalan and Showtime, I’m very grateful that they put the name and the face together. So para akong contestant din. Kaya nagkaroon ng impact ng konti when I work,” he admitted.

“I started competing at the age of 16 years old. That was in 1976. And I didn’t win all the time. I had a couple of defeats but to get back on your feet and say, ‘I will not give up, I will compete again,’ makes you a winner. Always remember that. Never give up.

"Alam mo, kanya kanyang panahon yan eh. Maybe it’s not my time today. But never give up. You just have to keep on dreaming and doing what you love to do and sali kayo ng sali. This is what TnT is doing. It’s giving you the opportunity to give back and show that panalo ka na kasi hindi ka natatakot mag-give up and you’re willing to give it another shot. That’s the most important thing. Do it for yourself. Do it because you love it. You’re honing your craft. For that alone, you are winners already. It’s a never ending journey,” he shared.
