Just a week after losing their beloved farm mascot and pet pig Bacon, Sharon Cuneta is mourning another loss in their fur family with the departure of their senior pet dog Grandpa, who belonged to her oldest daughter KC Concepcion. KC is currently based in Los Angeles, California. Sharon shared the sad update on her Instagram account last March 12.

In a video message she sent to KC the night before Grandpa passed, a very emotional Megastar could be heard narrating as she sat beside their dying pet, “Say hi mama KC, it’s Grandpa. I just came from the hospital today. Mama asked for me to brought home na because they were asking if they wanted to make me fall asleep na. I cannot see na, mama KC. I’ve had cataracts for a long time but I’ve been happy here because I have playmates. I have an operation because my gall bladder was sira and I stopped eating and they have to feed me na through a tube here. I’m just at home so I’m beside mama. I’m a big, heavy boy.’

In her post caption, Sharon detailed what she goes through every time one of her beloved pets passes away.

She wrote, “KC’s ShihTzu, Grandpa, who had lived with us for 16-17 years, was hospitalized last week. When hope started to dim, we brought him home. That was yesterday. I sent this video to KC last night. Grandpa passed away early this morning. It always feels like a member of your family passes when a beloved dog does - because they are part of your family. This stage is always the hardest part for a furparent. It is the only time your dog manages to 'hurt' you, and it doesn’t at all mean to… Run free, dear Grampy. We will always miss and love you, our good boy. 🙏🏻😓🖤”

Just like her mom Sharon, KC is also a dog lover and her love for her pets like Churro and Chica could be seen from time to time on her Instagram feed. In one post, she wrote, “I cannot be away from my furbabies anymore ~ it’s the one challenge I have when I travel! 🤍🐾”

Aside from adopting a rescued aspin named Scout earlier this year, Sharon has also been vocal about encouraging people to support animal shelters. In lieu of gifts last Christmas, she told her fans to donate much needed funds for rescued animals instead.
