Gigi Hadid opened up about co-parenting her four-year-old daughter, Khai, with former partner Zayn Malik.

In an interview with Vogue for its April issue, the model explained how they manage parenting responsibilities.

"Zayn and I do our custody schedules months in advance," Gigi relayed. "That doesn’t mean that it doesn’t change here and there, but we help each other out and have each other’s backs."

Gigi described their approach to co-parenting as being rooted in "love and a sense of camaraderie."

She also acknowledged the challenge of navigating their personal lives in the public eye. "There is the hard part of the world knowing this much, and thinking they know everything," Gigi remarked.

She made it clear that their priority remains their daughter’s well-being. "And at the end of the day, we’re not interested in giving everyone our whole story. What we are interested in is raising our daughter together, with so much respect for each other, and not just as co-­parents, but what we’ve been through together," she said.

Gigi also shared her approach to social media when it comes to her daughter.

"I don’t think it would be fully genuine to post nothing of Khai,” she pointed out. "But I also don’t want to put anything up that would take away from her privacy and her peace."

Gigi and Zayn dated for six years and welcomed their daughter in September 2020.

"Our baby girl is here, healthy & beautiful. To try to put into words how I am feeling right now would be an impossible task," Zayn posted on Twitter back in 2020.

He added: "The love I feel for this tiny human is beyond my understanding. Grateful to know her, proud to call her mine, & thankful for the life we will have together."

Meanwhile, Gigi wrote: "Our girl joined us earth-side this weekend and she’s already changed our world. So in love."

It was in October 2021 when it was reported that Gigi and Zayn had gone separate ways.
