Filipino-American actress and singer Hailee Steinfeld graced the cover of the March issue of Vogue Philippines, where she proudly reflects on her Filipino roots and her deep connection to family values.

In the interview, Hailee, whose maternal grandfather Ricardo was a half-Filipino from Bohol, shared how her heritage has shaped her upbringing.

"I carry my Filipino heritage with so much pride," she remarked. "And I feel like [it’s] deeply rooted in the values that my parents have instilled in both my brother and I: resilience and kindness and a deep sense of family."

In the same interview, Hailee also opened up about her upcoming film, Sinners, hinting at its personal significance.

"I find that with what I do, there’s always something to learn about yourself. But when you get to learn about yourself and your family, that’s something that can be really special. This will make sense when you see it," she teased.

Born and raised in Los Angeles, California, Hailee visited the Philippines for the first time in April 2016 for a series of music shows.

"The Philippines has been a topic of conversation in my family for years, so it’s incredible that it’s my music that finally brought me here,” she said in a past interview on Tonight with Boy Abunda.

She added: "I’m so far away from home but I feel at home because of that."

Hailee also expressed gratitude for being able to connect with fans through music. "To have that power so to speak is so incredible. It’s amazing to me that there are people who care and really listen," she said.
