As one of the most popular OPM groups today, BINI continues to achieve milestones, representing Filipino music and inspiring fans. Despite their growing success, the group remains humble and grounded. 

BINI members Jhoanna, Sheena, and Maloi shared how they stay true to themselves amid fame.

For group leader Jhoanna, family plays a vital role in keeping her grounded.

“Kaya siguro every time na may malaking ganap or na nafi-feel ko na na-o-overwhelm ako, kailangan ko ng time with them (family) para lang, para lang bumaba yung energy na binibigay ng mundo,” Jhoanna told PUSH ABS-CBN. “Parang sila lang yung lagi kong iniisip every time na nahihirapan ako.”

Similarly, Maloi believes that maintaining a life outside of stardom helps her stay true to herself.

“Ako siguro, hindi ko siya masyadong nilalagay sa utak ko. Like, parang carefree pa rin ako. Lumalabas pa rin ako kahit saan-saan, pumupunta ako anywhere I want to go. Kasi hindi ko masyado siyang iniisip na BINI Maloi, na BINI ako,” Maloi shared.

Although it seems like a “double-edged sword” for Maloi, she still wants to do what she loves to do.

“Kasi siyempre, may mga tao talagang makakilala sa'yo, pero mas pinaprioritize ko yung well-being ko. Na ito yung makakatulong sakin, and alam ko rin naman paano i-handle yung mga ganyang situations,” she added.

She also credited her family for reminding her of who she was before becoming an idol.

“Katulad ni Jho, siguro 'yun nga, yung reminder talaga ng family. Ako kasi, tawag sa'kin sa bahay is Lucky. Kapag naririnig ko yung name ko na Lucky parang nagiging reminder siya for me to keep me grounded talaga, kailangan kong mag-look back ulit.”

For the youngest member, Sheena, staying humble comes naturally to the group.

“For me, ang tingin ko naman po is it's a natural thing for us, BINI, na grounded na talaga kami. Kasi simula nung last year na nag-boom kami hanggang ngayon, every time na tinatanong kami, 'Anong feeling na nakikilala na kayo?' Lagi lang naming sinasagot is, 'Hindi pa rin nagsi-sink in.' And hindi ko alam kung kelan magsi-sink in sa'ming girls (iyon),” Sheena stated.

She emphasized that BINI simply wants to enjoy the moment without letting fame get to their heads.

“Dahil din sa naging journey namin—ang tagal naming na-achieve 'to. So every time na merong blessings, talagang sobrang grateful namin. Kasi ang tagal naming 'tong hinintay, and ayaw naming magpakita ng kahit na anong bad attitude or basta kung ano mang negativity kasi natatakot kami na mawala lang 'to agad sa isang iglap,” Sheena continued.

“Ang gusto lang naming girls talaga is i-enjoy 'tong moment na 'to, without getting into our heads.”

BINI members Sheena, Jhoanna, Mikha, Stacey, Gwen, Maloi, Colet, and Aiah recently renewed their contract with ABS-CBN, along with its talent arm Star Magic and music label Star Music, four years after their debut.

During the signing, ABS-CBN COO Cory Vidanes expressed her pride and appreciation for the group.

“Thank you for your continued trust in ABS-CBN. You entrusted us since the day each of you auditioned for BINI until today when you signed our new contract. This is a commitment to our shared goal of world-class excellence. Congratulations to all your successes, we are very proud of who you have become and what you have achieved,” she said.

BINI member Aiah reflected on their journey and looked forward to an even brighter future together.

“We’ve gone through a lot for the first couple of years together at hindi madali with the whole shutdown, pandemic, and everything else. but knowing that we can get through that, ano pa kaya in the next couple of years? And i think what’s going to be beautiful is that we’re all still going to be there for each other and conquer through all of those,” Aiah expressed.
