After her guesting on It’s Showtime last February 4, Tuesday, Maxene Magalona shared what went on in her head before she took the stage on the popular variety noontime show. In her latest Instagram post, the 38-year-old actress and yoga instructor detailed her experience.

She wrote, “True story 🤦🏻‍♀️ I joined a game on @itsshowtimena today called, 'Hide and Sing.' The challenge was to guess who the mystery celebrity singer is out of 3 masked performers.

"Right before I went onstage, I was searching for different OPM singers on Spotify. The first one that came out was @anqelaken who sang the song 'Ako Naman Muna' which I heard on @itsshowtimena when I guested last year during their Magpasikat segment. I loved the song sooo much, it made me cry 😭 This was an obvious sign from the Universe. My intuition told me to give Angela Ken as my answer.”

Maxene admitted she ended up going against her first instinct after hearing a different singing style. “When the game started, I suddenly heard the singing style of @janineberdin who is another artist that I admire. I love her so much so I decided to give her as my answer because I really thought it was her 🤷🏻‍♀️When the 3 performers removed their masks, lo and behold—it was Angela Ken. I felt so disappointed in myself.”

Before ending her post, Maxene shared that she wrote her post as a reminder to not make the same mistake by always trusting her gut and intuition. “I’m posting this to remind myself to always, ALWAYS follow my intuition and not let this world distract me from what feels right in my gut, heart and soul. If I want to evolve, I have to trust myself and honor my intuition 👁️. I still had so much fun though! Thank you for having me, @itsshowtimena 🥳 Shout out to Angela Ken and Janine Berdin who are two of the best and most authentic artists right now, in my humble opinion.”
