MANILA -- Actress Barbie Imperial remains unfazed by negativity on social media, believing that staying true to herself and being surrounded by people who genuinely know her matters more than online criticism.

“I think as long as alam mo kung ano 'yung totoo, you don’t really have to worry about what other people are saying,” she said during a skincare brand's campaign launch.

“And if I’m surrounded by people na kilala ako and kung ano 'yung ugali ko talaga, I think that’s more important than listening to bashers.

Imperial, who first gained fame as a Pinoy Big Brother 2015 housemate and was dubbed “The Doll Along the Riles of Albay,” recently became the newest endorser of a skincare brand.

She opened up about her personal struggles with stress and skincare, particularly dealing with hormonal cystic acne on her chin.

“Number one insecurity ko talaga ‘yung cystic acne ko here sa chin, which is hormonal. Mainly, it’s because of stress, so ‘yun 'yung number one insecurity ko,” she admitted.

As she enters another year in showbiz, Imperial said she is committed to prioritizing self-care.

“I think this 2025 marami akong goals. Syempre, I feel like ever since naman, I’ve been really trying to take care of my body, my skin, and especially my mind,” she shared.

While she has yet to reveal details about her upcoming projects, Imperial teased that she will be more active on YouTube, particularly with cooking content—a passion she has long wanted to explore.

Known for her Bicolana roots, Imperial expressed excitement about sharing her culinary skills through vlogging.

“May background naman na ako sa cooking. I don’t know, I think as a Bicolana, 'pag Bicolana ka, magaling ka magluto,” she said.

Imperial explained that while she previously tried lifestyle vlogging, she realized she wanted to focus on something she genuinely enjoys.

“When I was doing vlogs before, hindi ko na-eenjoy. Parang ang dami nilang alam about me, tapos may mga room tour—makikita nila 'yung kwarto ko. So I said, why not try something I really love, which is cooking? So I started doing it.”
