MANILA -- TikTok content creator Sesable uttered the viral words "Sobrang latina!" while flexing her Latina-inspired look in a makeup session for a brand that she is promoting.

Saying even she was surprised by how gorgeous the look turned out, Sesable used "self-invented" adjectives to describe her appearance. This included "sobrang latina!", "gorjuice!", and "monyeka".

Little did she know, her words would take the internet by storm.

Sesable shared in an interview that the phrase 'sobrang latina' in her viral video references the "Latina Make-up Challenge".

The video, which now has over 6 million views and 104k shares on TikTok, was recorded candidly while she was talking to herself.

“Nagpromote lang ng isa pong product which is ganu’n naman po talaga ‘yung ginagawa ko sa TikTok, then, ‘yung video na 'yon is on the spot ko lang siyang ginawa kasi sobrang na-appreciate ko talaga ‘yung ayos ko na ‘yon kaya parang “Sobrang Latina” ko kasi naka-Latina make up ako no’n eh,” she said.

(I just promoted a product as it is the nature of what I do on TikTok, that video I made was on the spot because I really appreciated my look, that’s why I was “Sobrang Latina” because I had a Latina-inspired make-up look.)

Sesable shared that this phrase and her other viral soundbites are nothing extraordinary. According to her, these are the words she uses every day.

The viral catchphrase is now making rounds on TikTok with celebrities and content creators joining the trend.

“Masaya naman po dahil nagagamit siya ng ibang tao, marami ring natutuwa dahil ngayon lang nila narinig ‘yung mga ganong klaseng tono, ‘yung ganung klaseng pananalita, kahit kakaiba, narerecognize pa rin ng tao,” Sesable added.

(I am happy because other people use it, many people are also entertained because they've only just heard those kinds of tones, those kinds of words, even though it’s different, it is still being recognized.)

For Sesable, staying true to oneself is important. She credits this milestone to her authenticity as an individual, her natural charm, and her innate Latina-ness.
