Known not just for being an actor and businessman, Matteo Guidicelli is also a very dedicated athlete, which is why health and fitness is of utmost importantance to him. This fact is also shared by his wife, Sarah Geronimo, who first thought of the idea of launching The Green Market, a plant-based market to encourage people to adopt a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle. Featuring local sellers of products that range from food, beverage to personal care products, The Green Market was a 2-day event held last February 22 and 23 at the G Studios in Alabang.

This fact is also shared by his wife, Sarah Geronimo, who first thought of the idea of launching The Green Market, a plant-based market to encourage people to adopt a healthier and more sustainable lifestyle. Featuring local sellers of products that range from food, beverage to personal care products, The Green Market was a 2-day event held last February 22 and 23 at the G Studios in Alabang.

“We’re here for our third Green Market here at the G Studios Alabang. It’s an advocacy project of Sarah and I and the G Team. Basically, it’s all plant-based, all sustainable merchants from all around the Philippines coming together,” said Matteo in an exclusive interview with PUSH ABS-CBN.

“It’s our third time, so that means every bazaar we try to switch the merchants out. These are our favorites, from plant-based ice cream to vegan wines. Nadine Lustre’s wines are here. There’s vegan chocolates, which are Sarah’s favorites. We also have sustainable clothing from uplands in the Philippines. So madaming mga ganung products na proudly Filipino kumbaga,” he shared.

In a previous Green Market event last year, the Popstar Princess even had her own stall, where she happily sold plant-based food items to the public. This sparked speculation online that she was going vegan. Matteo clarified how he and his wife really eat at home.

“No, no, we’re not switching. Maybe we can call ourselves plant-forward,” he explained. “Sarah is more pescetarian, more plant-forward, meaning prioritizing plant-based foods. We eat fish. I still eat meat. So it’s a whole balanced lifestyle.”

Among the participating booths in this year’s Green Market is the Guidicelli’s family owned restaurant Da Gianni, which sold various plant-based dishes just for the event. Another celebrity brand was also present, MAison BUkana Wines, which was recently launched by another celebrity.

These are her vegan wines,” he said, showcasing the various local products. “Us naman with Da Gianni, during every Green Market bazaar, we make Da Gianni plant-based vegan and no animal products, so all our cheeses and all our products are plant-based kumbaga. Sometimes it’s available in our restaurant, for request also.”
