Ever since he first worked together with Kim Chiu in the 2023 drama thriller series Linlang, Paulo Avelino admitted he never imagined that they would be paired together in multiple projects consecutively after that. The Kapamilya actor now plays the role of the mysterious Jolo who meets the cautious government Sari (played by Kim) who has never had a boyfriend.
Ever since he first worked together with Kim Chiu in the 2023 drama thriller series Linlang, Paulo Avelino admitted he never imagined that they would be paired together in multiple projects consecutively after that. The Kapamilya actor now plays the role of the mysterious Jolo who meets the cautious government Sari (played by Kim) who has never had a boyfriend.

“I never expected it. Hindi ko in-expect na makakatrabaho ko si Kim. I wanted to work with her pero never ko talaga in-expect kasi after a while naging iba na rin yung tahak ng mga gusto kong gawin. So hindi ko alam na kay Kim pala ang bagsak ko (laughs),” he shared during the media day for their movie held last February 19 at the Dolphy theater inside the ABS-CBN compound.

“Actually, now that I think about it, parang never lumagpas ng dalawang beses kong katrabaho yung mga leading ladies natin sa series or sa movie sa pagkakaalala ko. Siguro yung sagot ko diyan, parang hindi nakakasawang katrabaho si Kim. Di siya talaga nakakasawang katrabaho,” he admitted.

“Maraming rason. Hindi pa kami nakakapagpelikula together tapos rom-com rin, parang hindi pa talaga ako nakakagawa ng rom-com na pelikula with me starring in it. Yun siguro. At saka si Kim. Si Kim naman yun eh. Madali siya katrabaho and exciting din naman yung concept so medyo na-excite rin ako gawin ito,” he added.

"Of course there’s immense pressure. Medyo iba rin kasi pag gumagawa ng pelikula. Of course kailangan niyo itong ibenta, kailangan may bumibili ng tickets sa mga sinehan so ibang kalakaran siya. Ito na, ang ginawa na lang namin, tinry na lang namin pagandahin ng pagandahin yung material and of course pati yung performance namin, na maiba siya sa mga past na nagawa namin. And also para may bagong mapapanuod sa amin maliban sa mga napanuod na nila sa TV and sa mga streaming platforms,” he explained.
