Celebrity couple Vin Abrenica and Sophie Albert recently took on a unique challenge of switching roles as mom and dad for a day.

In a recent vlog, the couple shared how they wanted to test if they could handle each other’s daily responsibilities at home.

“We had a crazy idea. We are doing a different kind of video. We decided to do a role switch. Vin is going to do what I do and I’ll be going to do what Vin does. We both prepared each other a list kasi we really don’t have any idea of what each other will do in a day. We have no pakialamanan with what each one does,” Sophie explained.

For the first challenge, Vin was tasked to look after their newborn, Amara, where he needed to wake up whenever Amara needed to be fed or put back to sleep.

“Ano ba gagawin ko? Ititimpla ko lang naman yung gatas di ba? Isusubo ko lang? When she cries, make the milk, carry her, and then salampak and then put her down. Paano kung di siya matulog ulit? Kasi hinahanap niya?” Vin asked as Sophie reminded him of his duties.

Although he managed at first, Amara had other plans. She kept waking up and crying throughout the night, leaving Vin completely sleep-deprived.

“Vin is trying to sleep. That’s definitely not my schedule. I should be awake by now. But I feel like he had a really hard time last night because Amara has been crying and crying last night and Vin couldn't figure it out,” Sophie shared as she woke up early in the morning.

As Vin woke up, he then told Sophie of what he experienced on the first hours of their role switching, making his wife tease him.

“Ginising ako ni Amara. Ito nga lang (alarm clock) ginising din ako. So you wake up ten times a night pala). She doesn't want to sleep after I fed her.  She’s not like that with you. Hindi siya natutulog sa akin,” Vin said.

Sophie teased him, “Welcome to my life."

She then explained, “The reason why Amara is with me at night was because with Ava (their firstborn), Vin couldn't be woken up in the middle of the night like he cannot have an uninterrupted sleep kasi kapag he have interrupted sleep wala na.”

Later in the day, Vin took over cooking duties, something he rarely does.

“Kudos sa lahat ng mga mommies na nagluluto sa bahay. Nakakaproud si Sophie na mahusay siya magluto at siya talaga in charge sa pagkain namin sa lahat. Kanina nga lang nagsulat siya ng lulutuin namin for the whole week,” Vin said.

He also attempted to homeschool their first daughter, Ava, but quickly realized how challenging it was when Ava lost interest in the activity.

For Sophie, the celebrity mom shared that she was going to have a chill day, away from the schedule that Vin gave her.

“Anyway, Vin is supposed to be at the gym at 4 a.m. and 5 a.m. but since it doesn’t happen everyday, I'm going to take this. So I'm going to go down and have my coffee and chill out,” Sophie said.

However, as the day progressed, she started missing her usual routine.

“What I realize, I actually love doing what I do for the family. I love cooking. I love taking care of my girls. All of Vin’s tasks for our house are really the things I can't even think of myself to start doing, doing the manly stuff,” Sophie shared.

“He’s actually the more organized one so hindi ko talaga kaya yung ginagawa niya so I’m thankful we have each other,” she admitted.

As their day came to an end, the couple gained a deeper appreciation for each other’s roles.

“I feel like Vin and I are so compatible to each other in a sense na we like doing the same things but also what my weaknesses are is his strengths and whatever weaknesses he has is not totally mine but parang nababalance namin pareho,” Sophie expressed.

“I couldn’t stop myself from doing the things I normally do and Vin is really an overachiever in anything that he does. He always put his 100 percent into anything he does and he is capable of anything he puts his mind to,” she continued.

Vin also shared his newfound respect for moms, saying, “Saludo ako sa mga mothers, sa mga ginagawa niyo sa bahay because it’s really hard.”
