Kapamilya actress Janice de Belen shared how her experience has been working with her fellow star, Sharon Cuneta, on the hit series Saving Grace. During the media conference for the upcoming premiere on free television of the series, the two stars praised each other’s professionalism especially during their scenes where slapping each other was needed.

Saving Grace: The Untold Story is set to air on free television starting this March 3.

In the Prime version of the series, Janice and Sharon had an intense scene that many netizens enjoyed watching. As much as they enjoyed the slaps, it was the confrontation between the two mothers that proved to be an integral part of the story.

Janice revealed that it took them three takes to have the perfect shot of the slapping scene. She maintained the importance of building up the intensity of the scene before they get physical with each other in order to make it believable to the audience.

“More than the preparation for the sampal, it’s the preparations of the lines na mas importante sa amin,” she shared.

The Kapamilya star admitted that she didn’t want to do three takes as the slaps were real since they both didn’t want to fake it.

“Kasi pag may sampalan, gusto mo take one lang kasi nakakasakit ka eh. Wag na tayong umarte, minsan masakit talaga. Ang gusto mo hindi ka matake two kasi uulitin mo yun–– masasaktan ka, masasaktan mo siya. You try and make sure that you give your best sa eksenang yun,” she added.

Janice added how much she enjoyed the scene as she saw the professionalism of the Megastar.

“I was very happy to be working with Mega. She’s so professional kasi lalo na sa eksenang nag sampalan kami… It was fun working with her. Siyempre kahit papaano alam kong maraming tao nakaabang na makita kaming magkasama. It was really good working with her,” she maintained.

Meanwhile, Sharon couldn’t help but reveal how strong the slaps of Janice were which caught her by surprise. She also shared how fun it was working with her fellow Kapamilya star as they both grew up in the entertainment industry. 

“Ang liit liit na babae [ang] lakas ng sampal,” she jokingly shared.

Saving Grace: The Untold Story also stars Julia Montes, Jennica Garcia, Sam Milby, Christian Bables, Zia Grace, and Elisse Joson, among others. The upcoming series will showcase more stories that weren’t included in the Prime version.
