Newly crowned Reina Hispanoamericana 2025 Dia Mate is back in the Philippines Tuesday morning after her successful pageant journey in Bolivia last week.

She is the second  Filipina to win the beauty title after actress Winwyn Marquez in 2017.

Dia said she was hoping for the best in the pageant but was not expecting to win the crown as the competition was really tough.

"Of course I was hoping for the best to win the crown and to be the second winner for the Reina Hispanoamericana for the Philippines.  I didn't expect because all of the cadidates are of high caliber, all quality and all amazing and with great heart. I was just really praying to God na if it's my moment that night, it was," she said.

"It was just very nerve-wracking, oh my gosh, me and Venezuela.  And I don't know whose gonna win and I am just praying to God in that moment and then they called Pilipinas and I don't know of my reaction. Shock talaga, oh my God, we got the second crown after 7 years."

One of the most memorable moments in her Reina Hispanoamericana journey, she said, was the friendship she made with some of the candidates especially with Miss Bolivia, who was her roomate, and Miss Poland.

"She was the one translating everything for me, showing me, what Bolivia is all about, teaching me the Bolivian ways and sharing Bolivian food. She was too sweet and kind we had many late night tsikahan and bonding moments. And other than Miss Bolivia, I will say Ms. Poland as well, we are really connected being the only (one) who can speak fluent English like together," she added.

Dia dedicated her victory to the Filipino people, her family, her team and everyone who supported her journey.

Aside from fulfilling  her Reina Hispanoamericana duties, Dia said she will still push through with her music career and hopes to have a showbiz career as well.

"My music career so, if you all know but I recently released a music video for my single called 'Ikaw ang Pinili Ko'. So you will be seeing a lot of me, hopefully in the showbiz industry as well (as) acting and more of music," she said.

Dia will have a homecoming parade on March 2 at SM Mall of Asia grounds.
