Millie Bobby Brown candidly opened up about struggling to make friends while growing up in the limelight.

Having starred in the hit Netflix show Stranger Things since the age of 11, Millie reflected on how her early career shaped her social experiences.

"I don’t have many friends, because of who I am," she admitted in an interview with Vanity Fair. 

The actress also acknowledged that she has struggled with social interactions, particularly with peers of her own age.

"I didn’t go to school, so I don’t have the best social skills when it comes to people my own age and friendships. I struggle with that quite a bit. I missed out on a few things. But I’m working through them," she relayed.

Millie recently concluded filming the final season of Stranger Things. The actress confessed that closing that chapter of her life was an emotional journey.

"I was on set, and I was like, 'Well, I have one more day left.' And I started crying. I don’t actually like to cry at work. I’m a really emotional person, but I try to stay super strong. It made me feel so uncomfortable... and I just started welling up," she recalled.  

Back in December, the actress delivered a heartfelt speech on set during the show’s final day of production.  

"Isn't graduation supposed to bring relief, like you're glad to leave behind the teachers and classmates? Not me. I am nowhere near ready to leave you guys," she said in her speech as can be seen on a clip she shared on Instagram.

"I love each and every one of you, and I'll forever carry the memories and bonds we've created together as a family. I love you. Thank you," she added.

In Stranger Things, Millie plays the role of Eleven or "El" in the series, a teenager with telepathic and psychokinetic abilities who escaped the Hawkins National Laboratory.

Millie got married to Jake Bongiovi in May 2024 as confirmed by PEOPLE.

The Sun reported the wedding ceremony was a "very low-key, romantic affair with their closest family with them as they said their vows."

In a 2023 interview with Women's Wear Daily, Millie described the experience of planning her wedding as one of the most exciting chapters of her life. However, she also emphasized her commitment to keeping the details of the occasion as private as possible.

"I think probably drawing the curtains, just because there are only so many moments in life that you get only once. And to have everyone’s opinions and eyes looking at that just feels unnatural to me," she said.

The actress went on: "So I feel it’s important to keep those things, those small precious moments in life, really close to your chest."

Millie first announced her engagement to Jake Bongiovi in April 2023, sharing the news with an Instagram post featuring a lyric from Taylor Swift’s "Lover."
