Kapamilya host Bianca Gonzalez shared her experience visiting Tawi-Tawi for the first time as part of UN Women’s Women, Peace, and Security (WPS) field mission.

In a social media post, Bianca described the trip as a valuable learning experience, highlighting the rich culture of the province and the resilience of its women.

"Snaps from Tawi-Tawi. My first time to the southernmost tip of the country—and I Iearned so much about their culture, and am blown away and inspired by the courage of their women. Will share more about this Field Mission soon," she posted.

Bianca then expressed her gratitude to the WPS team for their efforts. "Thank you to the entire WPS team for the work that you do! 🥹 Magsukul!" she said.

As per peacekeeping.un.org, Women, Peace and Security works "to ensure women’s priorities are central to peace and security decisions at all levels."

To achieve this goal, they "address social, cultural and political barriers and protection risks that limit women’s full participation in achieving and sustaining peace."

Friends and fans online were quick to react to Bianca's post.

"You’re so amazing! Excited to hear all about it! ❤️" Iza Calzado wrote.

"Love this! I have never been! 🙌🏼wish I went with you!" Karen Davila commented.

"So inspiring. Ang daming magagawa ng mga Pilipino para sa kapwa Pilipino," another fan said.

Bianca has been a UN Women's Champion and has actively participated in the organization’s field missions and advocacy events.

In January 2024, she shared insights on UN Women’s work in the Philippines, emphasizing its two-decade-long efforts to advance women’s rights, economic empowerment, and peace and security in the Philippines.

"Did you know that for the past 20 years, UN Women has been doing work in the Philippines to advance women's rights? Yes, two decades of putting in the work for economic empowerment, fighting gender based violence, peace and security in the BARMM, and many other key issues addressed by a very lean team split between Manila and Cotabato!"

Bianca expressed her joy in raising awareness about UN Women’s initiatives in the country.

"I'm so happy to share that under the leadership of Lenlen Mesina and our first National Goodwill Ambassador Karen Davila, along with the hardworking #UNWomenPH team and my fellow UN Women Champion Rissa Trillo, we are able to create more awareness and amplify the important work that the team has been doing on the ground and through policy work," she posted.
